Some feedback (mostly UI)
Hi. I played the game a lot back in the Desura days and haven't really played it much since the move to Steam, but since we're getting close to launch and the game is basically done, I thought that I'd give it my full playthrough now. So, here are some things that stood out to me:

1. UI scaling - I'm using a 2560x1440 monitor, and it's kind of hard to read various parts of the UI. I end up leaning way into the monitor to see things like enemy ship level. It would be nice if there were at least an option for scaling in-game. I think that doubling UI text size (at least in areas which are not constrained, such as shop menus and objective markers) would help me a lot. Maybe do it via a slider.
I also think that allowing UI scaling would go a long way towards emphasising to new players enemy ship levels. For me, on my monitor, it's kind of hard to tell what the level of the ships are at a glance, and new players won't even think to look on their first play.

2. UI elements present after death - Things like the crosshair and objective arrow really should disappear on death

3. There should be a fast way to show new upgrades. Right now, I have to go through each tab to find which ones are new. Maybe a tab that shows the current level equipment + any other level equipment that is new since last dock

4. Unavailable tabs, like engine modifier on some ships, should give a strong indicator that they're unavailable. As-is, they look the same as any other tab.

5. In some of the early challenge arenas, I frequently ran into situations where there were enemies within my line of sight, but were outside of my radar range. It would be nice if enemies that were directly visible were also shown on the radar, maybe as an arrow off to the side to indicate that they are beyond normal range.

Hey gsilver, nice to see you again.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into them all for the first post launch update.

Paul, you know I love your game. But this poster is right abou the UI scaling. I have a 1440p monitor but I run at 1600x900 so I can see things in the shops D:

I bought the game today and am really ticked off about this UI problem. I can't read any of the text in the game at all in 1080p. I have to go down to the lowest resolution setting to be able to read anything.

All UI should scale!!

Hi Ben, sorry you are having problems. I assume you are using a 1440p monitor too. Unfortunately the game was designed for native 1080p before 1440p became popular. Running at 1440p, makes the UI 30% smaller than intended, which is okay on a big monitor but problematic on smaller ones. Those with 4k monitors are best running at 1080p.

I bought the game recently and think it is pretty awesome. However one problem I have had so far is that it can be difficult to figure out where to go when you select a task. Sometimes it is easy to follow the icon, but at other times it is hard to figure out which path to take to get to the destination. For tasks with time limits a little more guidance than the destination icon is sometimes necessary. Or maybe a map?

I look at it on youtube and its too small even at the intended resolution
