Imagine having the foresight to not try and have serious self control or even.. critical thinking skills as a human being and simple just notdo this.

So we giving up on humans is that it? May as well not make a game, drink, sleep, walk or do anything. Sad.

It is quite literally inexpensive and the easiest thing to do by: picking up up the nearby paper, mechanical pencil or ink pen and get to drawing/designing.

All this work put into the game and you got lazy with the avatars and used ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI? Seriously? I was so hyped until I saw this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This better be fixed before full release.

JWE 1 and 2 didn't get lazy with this. The fact they even used it is a red flag and should NOT be the norm in video games.

Well, then people can choose not to play them. And no, we really don't have to 'get used to seeing it' if enough games start taking hits because people are staying away from games that use that garbage. Won't be the case here and at least the use of avatars is very minimal, but it's still incredibly lazy to begin with.

It does suck, but assuming it’s gonna be like the past games, modding should be a thing? I’d of course rather not have to, but as much as I dislike the use of AI at all, it won’t stop me from playing, as everything else sounds amazing.

This will give me an excuse to check out the modding, at least!

This is kind of a non-issue. Sure, "AI bad, blah blah", but when used correctly in moderation, it is merely another tool in the arsenal. The way I see it is if using AI to quickly generate images for scientists (which haven't ever existed as anything more than a .jpg anyway) helps free up time for development on actually-important mechanics, then it is worthwhile to use. Being upset over something that is so inconsequential to the rest of the game is pretty ridiculous.

The game uses AI-generation for the character images. Don't support this.

Using AI-generated content is downright insulting to artists, and it's nothing more than pure laziness by Frontier Developments. It would take almost no effort to take pictures of your office staff or use public-use images already available online, like they did for the previous two games.
It shouldn't matter if there's one single AI-generated image in the entire game, it's an insult to artists and a sign of things to come. If they are able to use AI for something small in this game, they're gonna push the envelope with their next game, and the next one after that.

Actually, they apparently used AI to generate the scientist faces in JWE2, as well, but no one noticed, bc who is looking at the scientist faces that closely lol. It just wasn’t required for them to announce it on Steam back when 2 released.

I admit it sucks, but I’m thinking I’ll mod them out, personally. I’m still gonna buy the game, but maybe they’ll replace them if people bring it up.

And yeah sure, that's your choice to buy the game. As long as you understand that you're encouraging a practice that costs people their jobs.
