Let’s Meet at Gamescom 2026

We are heading to Cologne for Gamescom 2026, and we’d love to meet some of you in person. We’re planning an informal community meetup during the event. Nothing fancy, just a chance to meet, grab a drink, take some photos, and put faces to the Operators who helped make our dream come true.

We’ll announce the exact time and location once we’re in Cologne, so keep an eye on our Discord[discord.gg] for more details. That’s also where we’ll be sharing live updates on where we are, what we’re doing, and how to find us during the event.

We’re bringing a small batch of IRON NEST shirts with us, our first proper piece of IRON NEST merch! So even if meeting High Command isn’t enough motivation to show up... perhaps some free military supplies will do the job. First come, first served!

Patch #5: Minor Fixes and Improvements

We noticed many requests for a MID-MISSION SAVE SYSTEM, and Nick is working on this feature.

Since this will be a larger-scale update and will take a little more time to implement, we decided to release a small patch in the meantime addressing three minor issues.

As for what comes next, Nick is currently focused on the mentioned MID-MISSION SAVE SYSTEM that so many of you have requested. Then, starting August 24, gamescom begins. And both of us will be heading to Cologne.

SAVE FILE CORRUPTION & FAILING TO ENTER MISSIONS AFTER A CRASH.
Cat’s eyes disappearing on Very Low graphics settings.
(We apologize for any trauma caused by witnessing that monstrosity)
Non-resetting elevation and elevation linkage lever when exiting a mission after shooting.
Duplicated last fragments of patron names on cannons; also made the text larger.
Cat still being carried after finishing a mission, causing it to glitch out.
Engine control lights not working.

IMPROVED:

Loading into the main menu or a mission and being unable to move the mouse.
Discord code generation/account linking issues.

ADDED:

Motion Blur Toggle.
(Motion blur only occurs during screen shake events, such as firing, or getting hit. This toggle removes it from those events)

IRON NEST IS NOW FULLY OPERATIONAL

Operators.

After thousands of design decisions, hundreds of sleepless nights, countless cups of coffee that legally qualified as industrial solvents…

HIGH COMMAND CONFIRMS: IRON NEST IS FULLY OPERATIONAL

To celebrate the launch, we've 🔴 increased the release discount from 20% to 25% 🔴. Not because some marketing spreadsheet told us to, but because this project was never ours alone.

When we started making IRON NEST, there wasn't an army behind us. It was just us. Then a handful of people on Discord[discord.gg] somehow looked at this strange little giant turret game and decided: "yeah... let's see where this goes."

You kept showing up. You brought your friends into the ranks. You rallied Content Creators to our cause. You shared your stories, screenshots, clips, ridiculous strategies, and bug reports that occasionally resembled "minor and entirely acceptable casualties".

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, that tiny Discord[discord.gg] server grew into a headquarters for 70,000 loyal Operators. We’ve been in a year-long mad rush, so it will take quite some time until we fully grasp the reality of it all. We never dreamed of this. We still don't fully understand how this happened.

What we _do_ understand is that without you, this game would never have become what it is today. Not even close. So making the game a little cheaper on day one for everyone who has been waiting is the smallest "thank you" we could think of. Truthfully, this will likely be the deepest discount for quite some time. It felt like the right way to celebrate the launch.

We've poured everything we had into IRON NEST. People say that all the time, we know. But we genuinely have. Late nights became early mornings, weekends quietly disappeared. Friends and family got far fewer sightings of us than they deserved. We hope that when they look at IRON NEST and the incredible community it has brought together, they'll feel it was worth sharing us with everyone else for a little while.

Because we'd do it all again. No matter what happens from today onward… This has already been the adventure of our lives.

POST-LAUNCH ROADMAP

So, does High Command rest? Negative. We reviewed our own request for vacation. And... It was denied.

More content. More missions. More skirmish modes. More features. More music. High Command knows what you're about to ask, so let's save everyone some time:

Thank you for every report, review, screenshot, suggestion, and word of support. You turned a small two-person indie operation into something far greater than we ever expected.

IRON NEST became the 🥇 #1 most wishlisted game of the June 2026 Steam Next Fest.

It also became the 🥈 #2 demo of the entire festival by unique players.

Even now, High Command still struggles to believe the numbers recorded in the June 29 report:

To us, these are not just numbers. Each one stands for a son or daughter of Castile who entered the NEST, became an Operator, and joined the final drill before the full offensive begins on August 6, 2026.
