Is there a way to disable that obnoxious white border yet?

I was thinking about buying this game but no way am I going to play through a game with an annoying white border around the edges the entire time.

I don't care if it's supposed to be some artsy effect or not. Not gonna buy this until I know there's a way to crop that garbage off the screen.

Well, the whole graphic style of the game is "old drawn and oil-painted picture", of which the white border is a part. So I'd guess the answer to your question is "No". At least, I saw no option for it in the config menu.

If that prevents you from playing that game, it's your choice. The game is really good, and I don't really notice the white border anymore after a few maps.

must be, cause i completed the game and still forgot lol. it seriously shouldn't even be an issue gameplay-wise though.... its still the dummest reason not to play this game

The answer is "No", maybe some modder who have this same problem as you and going to mod it out someday.

Look OP , this isnt an option in this game , it is part of its "artsy effect" and if you dont like it , well you wont be buying this game , which is already not everyone likes every single game , while this is one amazing game.

Wow quite a few negative comments in here for OP's simple question. I don't have a huge aversion to the border but I agree an option to toggle it would be nice.

To that effect I had a look around in the game files and using Durante's tools for extracting files I was able to hide the border for the most part. There is one slight glitch in that it seems to flash for half a second when you toggle betweeen firing and movement modes. This isn't a huge deal but it would be nice to have it gone completely.

In any case here is the mod if anyone would like to try it out: http://www.mediafire.com/download/7z7wu7sgds32y0t/vl_cvr.htx just drop it in \SteamApps\common\Valkyria Chronicles\data\resource\canvas overwriting the old file. Make sure to backup if you would like to revert the changes.

If anyone can figure out how to remove the secondary border glitch it would be much appreciated.

If the OP wasnt so offensive to the game itself , then maybe people wouldnt have gotten ticked off.

at most its one layer for the border you have to mod some type of skipdraw for.... but no dev will ever do that because its part of the games aesthetic feel

It would be rather easy to do, but I certainly wouldn't do it. It's an essential part of the game's aesthetics IMHO.

As you can see, his choice of words are quite negative. Expect an incoming fire if you start with fire.
