Yarp, 24 Feb, 2020 was the release of the Royalty DLC.
So fix's and stuff and community mods and stuff since then, yarp.

There is a new section for a reason.

Not much new base game stuff, sadly.

Anything?

Quest system has been reworked to comply with DLC standard quest presentation/mechanics.

Some crafted items were changed/added.

I think the mini-turret had some slight changes.

A slight change to deadfall traps, now "spike traps?"

That's about it, unless you're using the DLC.

YO-HO-HO-HO matey. Tynan just incorporates mods into the game and uses modders ideas. Nothing really new. There's 2 new mods though which boost FPS in late game greatly. The semi-optimisation everyone want from Tynan but will never get. It's all on the shoulders of community.
RocketMan
RimThreaded
They are not perfect but better than nothing. And nothing is the only thing the dev provides.

It's not really clear whether you want features to remain as mods, or whether you want features to be included into the base game.
Your message comes across as contradictory.

Using Rocketman and RimThreaded together is a no-no, and you should only be using Rocketman as RimThreaded has MANY incompatibilities with other mods.

What you claim to be on the "shoulders of the community" is an argument that is both subjective and incompetently made. Plus, Tynan has a thread on Ludeon Forums in which is specifically asks people what mods they would like to see made vanilla, if any at all. The community is to blame for that, not him. Sure, he may take inspiration from some mods, but he does them far better and with better support.

Try a less based argument next time.

No, what he is saying is very clear and not contradictory at all, if not less-than-informed on his part. Optimization is something that should be taken seriously in all games, but he claims only modders care to fix that with mods like Rocketman and RimThreaded, not saying what those mods do should be put into vanilla exactly.

I get that you're trying to discredit him in a fashion, and I'm with you on that one, but that was a.. poor shot for lack of a better way of putting it.

I would have called him a "dinkus" or something and gotten another temp ban, your much nicer than me. :)
Long story short, the Royalty DLC was meh. Very meh.

I mean he has a point about Tynan stealing modders work, and really only made the dlc different through patches because people were complaining. The devs should have did mutli-core support and multiplayer then added unique expansions that add more depth/modding tools.

The DLC even at the start was nowhere near any of the mods that were created. I can't think of a single mod adding psychic abilities, monarchy and stuff like that.

1. Incorporating mod concepts is not stealing in a legal sense unless the developer literally copies the code/art assets and inserts it into the game. All games use designs and mechanics taken from other games, and all continually developed games source the player base for popular features.

2. It’s not stealing in an ethical sense unless there’s some evidence that the developer had no intention / ability / conceptualization of it until the mod was created. Considering that as a player I’ve only rarely seen mods that I’d never thought of (like the one that rotates the entire map), I find it unlikely that the developer didn’t think of 99% of the concepts that are out there. Spaceships, Cthulhu, magic, Vikings, more traits, more creatures, more stuff, multiplayer, better UI, better performance... none of these are unique ideas.

What you appear to be suggesting (that anyone who makes a mod with a concept that appears in a later version should be compensated) would create a rush to “claim concepts” and cripple development.

You simply can’t have it both ways: either modders are free to mod (and monetize their work and gain industry experience, as VE and others have done) but not be entitled to compensation, or you don’t have mods.

1) He has no point of theft as none took place. Inspiration, maybe, but that is not theft in any capacity.
2) DLC was made "different" because of concepts that made more sense, but the core of what the DLC is has not changed.
3)Multi-core support, done properly, would require a massive amount of work that may as well push him to just make a new game. Look at RimThreaded and how poor that is, especially with mods becoming broken. Multiplayer is also something that people cry about, but it doesn't need to be there. Not every game needs to have it, and you folks need to accept that. Respect the developer's vision for the game, which is to be a singleplayer game. That's all there is to it.
4)To touch back on point 1, plenty of modders release variations of the exact same thing, often leading dangerously close to being confused with an original/prior release. But, people are okay with that because no one is being paid. A developer sees ideas, makes a mod close to those ideas, gets paid, AND does a better job at it gets scrutinized. Either hold all who make mods accountable for being similar, or get off of Tynan's back.

I keep hearing this but I wonder, what mods were supposedly 'ripped?' If they still exist, where can I see them?
