When will you add Achievements and Steam Trading Cards?
When will you add Achievements and Steam Trading Cards?

▢ Soon™
▢ this year
▢ next year
▢ never

Please explain why these basic features are still missing dispite having already released DLC.

@community feel free to LINK to any statements the developer has already made regarding this. I havent found any but to be fair I havent looked realy hard either.

You should try doing that. :-)

Achievements are never, dev said he doesn't want to add them. Wants the game to be fluid and not a checklist of tasks.

Trading cards might happen, IIRC there wasn't enough art before. The obvious choice would be the storytellers but there's just 3. Then he added the Royalty dude. Recently he's been looking to hire somebody to do more art like that which is probably for the next DLC, but could also mean trading cards eventually. I wouldn't hold your breath though.

the argument is flawd anyway since you are denieng ppl to play for a certain goal/reward by not including them.

The thread is old, sure, but the point still stands.

Trading cards are literally pointless and would serve absolutely no purpose for the game.

No, the lack of achievements is not preventing people from playing the game in any one particular way.

Why do you need the game to tell you what goals to strive for? Set your own goals. Not having achievements denies you nothing.

The dev has said they don't want achievements to direct game play. An any difficult to get achievement will do just that. As people will change how they plan the.game to earn them, because you wont likely be able to earn them naturally. On the other hand, if you make the achievements so easy to get that they happen naturally, as a part of normal game play, then they are not really achievements.

No it doesn't.

There is no argument, this isn't a debate. The dev doesn't want to add achievements, he gave his reasons, it's his game, end of discussion. They aren't happening.

Im not very creative in that regard. It would add a replay reason for me.

I also like to get rewarded for goals I achieve. I don't pursue anything if there is no price to be won or benefit to be gained. Some may also like to "complete" games

This is the only thing I'll never agree on. Achievements don't define the play style of everyone of us, since they are "optional".

Let's suppose I've just an achievement saying "collect 1000 silver ore" (stupid example). Who on earth won't play the game because he doesn't want to play a game just to collect 1000 silver ore? Of course I will play the game just like before, but If occasionally I hit the target, I'm happy to see the pop up saying that I did that thing.

Also, on the opposite side, If I'm an achievement hunter, why I should stop to play the game once I did all the achievements? If I enjoy the game I'll continue to play it, and I would be also happy because I did all the achievements.

So, to all the devs, please, these are excuses. Achievements are ALWAYS a nice addiction to any game. Not putting them in a game is just a missing feature.

In my case, I'm still waiting for them, they give me an extra reason to play the game.
