No they don't. (Yet, hopefully :steamhappy:) So far, only animals are able to breed.

Tynan's said that he kinda wants to make this happen - but if he is gonna do it it's gonna be made properly, whatever that means.
But it's in the "Might happen" pile :)

It's probably not easy, seeing how humans are pregnant for 9 months and small children need to be taken care of for 2-3 years in full and another 3-4 years with smaller stuff.
Few colonies last that long at the moment and if they did you probably wouldn't want your pregnant colonist to become slower and basically stop any hard work and after that someone has to take care of the newborn child - leaving you with one less worker for at least 3-4 years.

Too right! No maternity leave in this colony...

What about vat grown to make babies mature faster? Or for that matter just take the necessary 'samples' from mum and dadand let it cook until their teenagers who can pull their own weight?

The way i see it.

Cool a baby, a nice useless mouth i will have to feed for at least 10 years for him to be of any use (more than one stays on a map usually)

Better he gives an insane mood buff, because otherwise, he is just the next butcher table bill or sarccophagus resident.
Would take a mood debuff for death anytime over a useless mouth for my whole colony life.

Very little chances that there be children in vanila game.

1. Pregnancy and infant stage will take at least 4-5 seasons in game, taking most time of colonist and making her useless to player. And average length of game is several years, so major of us never be able to have any return from that child.

2. Major legality problem with underaged content AND drugs, violence, forced works, organ harvesting, etc.

Second problem make appearance of children in official release very improbable. Either they can't be released on Steam, either they be undestuctible furniture-a-like stuff. Both way are dull.
