rude modders

it's awesome and all that people are out here putting their time into providing cool features and tweaks to this game. truly, modders are what have made this game playable.

however, that doesn't mean they should be allowed to treat people however they please. I just presented a bug in someone's mod and they acted like I spat in their coffee. maybe they had a bad day, but that's just not my fault.

is there somewhere I can report them or something?

Don't like what a modder has to say, don't use the mod. Not really an issue.

or, instead, you can issue a cease and desist. or talk to them, or have someone talk to them, or sue them if they say incorrect and bad things about you.

perhaps instead of saying such obvious, irrelevant, things we can skip all that and actually get to something constructive?

Which mod? Had a quick look at all his mods and didn't find a comment from you in any of them.

Unless it is common knowledge/a known user-specific problem, it's never wise or suggestible to give names or references of who is or could be; it only adds to aggravate situations. Hell, it's not even wise to do so when it's a well-known thing.

We all have bad moments, days, maybe at that exact time we could be overwhelmed by something. Don't get me wrong, this doesn't excuse anyone from their words or behaviour, but what you're referring at is, what it seems to be, a personal confrontation gone wrong between you and him, and although as you said it's not your fault, it feels like a very cheap-revengeful move to drop his name at the tip of the hat as introduction to the issue. Not saying you don't have the right to feel offended for being mistreated while trying to actively help by sharing the log; again, we don't know what you said either, so I'm taking everything with a grain of salt.

My suggestion would be to brush this off and move on.

I can not find the thread or post you made nor the allegedly rude reply?
So i can not see for myself if you are justified or not.

Regardless, 2 things. 1st , Steam has a rule about naming and shaming that it enforces strongly. And 2nd, any post made by any Steam account can be reported for moderation. So your question is kinda moot.

I will add my 2cents, most community modders are tired of questions that have been answered many times previously in the comment section, etc. So ... was yours new?
edit: I just saw your rude reply to someone who gave your there opinion; if you communicated like that then I can see why the Modder was allegedly rude to you. LoL

why would you even want to report (run to daddy behaviour) when someone is "rude"in your eyes. Just ignore them from now on and go on with your life.

Did the modder break any rules of whatever platform he's on? Then report him there. If he didn't, what are you complaining about?

report the mod. present an adult level argument why. saying he's a meanie-head probably wont suffice. if its really just a bad coffee day (we have all been there), valve surely will take that into consideration.

people are really entitled these day and age. Modders do not have responsibility to any of their creations or users, so they don't have to be polite to you. If they refuse to fix the bug for you, it means your mod got abandoned. Best way to solve the problem is to learn modding yourself and fix the bug on your own.

Cry to mommy. report them to the gov. get them banned from twitter. start a riot and occupy their house. these are all rational responses in the modern world. Liked it better when we all just said whatever man and moved on.

@John - Take everything on the internet with a pinch of salt. What may be "rude" to some is just "standard" for others. Could be just the way that person is, no disrespect meant they are just wired differently.

Or, like you said maybe a fire was lit between you two, but just let it slide. Nothing is ever worth the hassle of having to deal with someone else's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ IMO. You'll feel better just shrugging your shoulders and moving on. Don't report a mod for anything other than valid reasons.
