Pawns refuse to clean
Has anyone had any problems with pawns refusing to clean? They would rather go idle than clean, and my entire base is disgusting with tiles going as low as -64 beauty.

Check your home zone(s)?
Sounds like an incapability or zones/pathing issue. At least if it's as bad as going idle over cleaning.

If they just never get around to it, switch some to a 1 on cleaning for a bit.

yeah, it's nothing stupid like that. Home area is set, and I even tried setting work priority for all pawns only to clean on 1, and everyone just went idle, additionally I cannot right click on the dirt to have them manually clean it up either.

Okay, so...
--You have pawns that are capable of cleaning set to priority 1 in work schedule
--The areas that need cleaning are in your home zone
--You cannot force a pawn to clean

I'm stumped. Maybe you need to set your pawns to 'work' in the restrictions tab? I have 2 colonists set to priority 3 on cleaning and my base is clean; there is blood near the butcher table, but I was able to force a pawn to clean w/o any issues.

I'm thinking it is mod related, which is weird because I loaded 100+ mods into an existing game, and it worked perfect. I started a new game with all the mods because I wanted to do permadeath, and this is what happens.

Could be...I dunno because I've never installed/used (or intend to) any mods.

Maybe because the load order changed when you started a new game?
Or one of the mods updated without you noticing and now conflicts with something.

Yah 100+ mods will do that.

It sounds like a home zone issue. I know you said you checked it. Still, thats what it sounds like. When you have a cleaner and right click, if you cant click the mess, its not in the home area. Also, sometimes if another pawn is trying to use it, you cant select it with another pawn.
I have the same issue, pawns wont clean on their own, I can force them to clean, the tiles are accessible, their cleaning is set to priority 1

Please start a new topic rather than restart a three year old one before the game was even 1.0. Locking thread.
