Just luck.

You can install a mod like:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=725956940

To be able to craft them yourself.

I don't know if you care in particular about this anymore, but Exotic Goods Traders have bionics alot. Spaceship traders have the best odds if i remeber correctly. Sadly you can't order those.

yeah that's what i was doing, i had plenty of silver so i was ordering exotic traders, problem was they just kept showing up with bionic eyes and legs, no arms, so i thought there might have been something else i was wrong about, turns out i was just a bit unlucky. thanks for the reply though

If it gets too bad maybe rip the hand off of a scyther and use it to your advantage...

Combat suppliers also sometimes carry bionic parts. I usually call a mix of them and exotic when I'm looking for bionics.

Right now I'm in great need of legs and eyes, as my older folk are developing health problems...

what does that mean? i kill scythers and my guys break them down into components, steel, whatever, but without a mod theres no option to take their body parts

if you just down a scyther and he is still "living" then you can make operations on it.
remove both arms (blades) and turn them off.
also works on the big centipede, you can turn them off.

There is all kind of things you can get when getting older.
After 40 years old, the risk of having them is increased.
This is random so you can have a guy at 60 without problem
and an other one at 41 with all kind of health problem.

What Grish said... but I believe you need to make sure you do the remove arms operation BEFORE you do the shutdown operation.

Not only that, but both blade parts have to be undamaged to be able to queue the modification.

I have a dude with brawler and jogger that i gave twin scyther blades to. Then i popped a couple bionic legs on him and a good personal shield and he flies into combat. I use him to chase down raiders as they flee.

Had to put a joywire in him tho, if he ever breaks I'm pretty sure he could murder the whole colony...
