Management Training Quest?!?!?!?!?!

I am really enjoying this game, however, I have a few issues with the quests. It is annoying because I like some others are having a hard time completeing quests. I think this is because the game doesnt give you enough information to tell you what it wants you to do!!!
I am stuck at the Management traing quest. This quest supposedly allows you to expand your number of specialists. I have completed steps 1-3, found the trainer, taken him to barbarian city, bought 100 ore and 100 olive oil, taken to city to sell. That where it goes off the rails!! You can sell one, but it tells you you need to "Find a way to sell for greater than X", You go to the guy in the tavern and buy him a drink, talk him into selling the ore. The game tells you to go and sell the ore and when I do that the quest still fails!! WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DO HERE??!!
Very frustrating in an otherwise great game!

We are in a process of starting a Merchants of Kaidan Wiki that will help with getting stuck.

As for this quest. These are the steps you need to take:

If you can't sell ore your companion will tell you to find another way.
Go to the tavern and convince one of the guys to buy ore from you for an elevated price by buying him a drink.
Go to market and sell 100 or more ore for (the price you bought + 1). You will not get money from that trade but the quest will complete.

Are these the steps you took? Did you have any other ore in your stock before?

Hello and thanks for responding. Yes I took all these steps. It seems there was some sort of glitch. I tried many times selling the 100 ore "in different ways" and nothing worked. I exited the game, rebooted and loaded an earlier save game. I tried again and it worked the first time. I also wonder if the city had anything to do with it? The first time I was in Ovoros, when I reloaded I went to Tunnengam and as mentioned it worked fine. I appreciate you getting back to me and trying to help. As I said in the earlier post I am really enjoying what I feel is a great game. The Wiki is a great idea, I am in full support of the idea. It will provide a venue to offer constructive feedback. Keep up the good work!

Have this exact same bug myself. Bought olive oil and ore (I already had some ore from before I arrived at Reshun), headed to Nar, sold the Olive Oil and got given the "find another way" step.

I saved the game and quit at this point, coming back to it later.

Figured out I needed to speak to the guy in the tavern, got handed the next part of the quest to "sell" the ore. Going to the market and selling any amount of ore (I have no idea what quantity I bought at Reshun now) causes the sale dialog box to close with no indication that anything happened - the total in my inventory doesn't update until I quit the market screen or try to sell more.

Whatever I do, I'm stuck with the quest not completing and if I leave the city I fail the quest.

Unfortunately when I quit, I overwrote the only save slot from before taking the quest that I'd made in the previous six hours of play!

So I'm stuck with either losing six hours of play or failing what seems like an important quest. Not best pleased...

I'm having the same problem. Thankfully I have a save from before the quest begins, but I've tried over and over and can't complete it. Sometimes I sell one or both of the items for a profit and it's just never acknowledged until the quest times out, sometimes I get the prompt to "find another way", talk to the guy in the tavern, sell the ore, and still nothing happens and the quest is eventually failed. Seems like a huge glitch, very frustrating.

With any of the quests that require buying/selling goods to/from a specific place, it seems saving and loading 'breaks' that information - so if you overwrite your save file in the middle of one of those quests and load, you're screwed.

Yeah, it's a real shame, I loved this game but haven't returned to it in over a year because I'm stuck with this issue.

I had this problem now XX. 3 hours of gameplay not saved. Is this issue not patched?

I had this same problem. Nothing happened when I sold the ore for the faked price. I reloaded a save I made before leaving Reshun a few times, eventually upon selling the olive oil at a profit I get a different bug where the retired merchant tells me that he didn't expect me to sell the ore at a profit and I completed the quest...

However... It seems that completing the quest in this way only gives you one extra slot for specialists instead of two...

Yeah, I also ran into this. I think the main problem is if you save and reload at any point in it, it will glitch. I tried multiple cities after saving after buying the olive oil and ore at Reshun and it never completed. I did it all in one go without any save/reloads, starting the quest at Seetch, flying to Nar, drove to Reshun, picked up the Olive Oil and Ore, drove back to Nar, sold the Olive Oil, bought a drink at the bar, got him to buy my Ore, and completed the quest.
