PoE designed for 1920x1080 ?
Just watched a pretty beginners video and it said the games engine was designed with 1920x1080 in mind.
I plan on playing at 1920x1200 or 2560x1600 and am wondering what will scale differently?

The maps were made at something crazy like 4800x2800 or something.

Backer demo scaled fine for me in 2560 * 1440 and 3440 * 1440. UI elements were not tiny, Char, etc screens were fullscreen and sharp, and so on.

Hmm, what about 1280x1024?

It gets pixeled at 160x128. 0/10. Bad game, would not buy.

Genuinely curious, I'm currently restricted to an old LCD screen running 1280x1024. As it's not widescreen quite a few modern games had horrible (UI) issues.

I do hope it works well on 1920x1200...

And I've 1920x1200 too. Want play without horizontal black lines...

I was watching a streamer who was playing at 1080P, he looked at the resolution options and the lowest was 1280x720, I don't think there were square options.

AFAIK the possible resolutions are supplied by windows directly. Basically, the game settings automatically displays the resolutions you can set in windows in the display resolution settings too.

Long story short, if you have a 16:9 screen you won't be able to choose a 4:3 resolution. But it does not necessarily mean it is does not exist.

You might either want to wait for a demo then.

Or you could search the interwebs for a made open-source version of the backer demo and try that one. I know it exists.

Yes - Pillars run natively at 1920x1200 no problem. Or the beta did at least. :)

"4:3, 16:10 and other aspect ratios will be supported and will not have "black bars". Our main challenge will be making sure the interface adjusts properly.

When it comes to ultra-high resolutions, we will likely do the same "zoom out" of the environment up to a certain point and then pixel double the high-res backgrounds. When the pixel density is as high as it is on a laptop or desktop screen (that 2880x1800 display is for a 15" MacBook Pro), a pixel doubled image won't really have much of a loss of quality, IMO. "
