Does PC version fix lighting problem on ps5?
I played the ps5 version but the lighting was super bright and didn't look good. Especially when turning the camera from a dark area to an area with light.

Not really no. Changes are very minor at least based on game start I had time to play. What I saw somewhere is that you can FFHook shadows to have better cascades and fix the all the time low res shadows as this was kept the same as PS5.

Edit: I also read that they didn't add any new light source. Also didn't got at costa del sol to see if the ship ambient oclusion was fixed.

But!!!!! There are good things on this port. The main is image resolution. I mean, if you have the hw for it. Running it on native 4k feels like new glasses compared to PS5 preformance mode.

Also DLSS is waaaaaaaay better than PS5 TAAU solution

Edit2: Contrast is higher on PC

Thank you for finding out about light source. I have hardware for 4k which is why I am looking for high fidelity games. It's just the lighting that ruined the visuals for me in certain areas. This game has some of the best character models ever but idk if I want to replay since it has too many forced mini games. I wanna explore and battle not all this extra stuff that shouldn't be mandatory.

I've spent about 3h in minigames over 50 hours, and that's counting all the non-mandatory ones. Would've come around to ~45 minutes if I had beelined the story, and frankly, doing too much side stuff will trivialize the game for you, so I am not sure it's such a good thing. 45 minutes in 50 hours is about the density of minigames in the OG FF7 too. ^^''

All that optional stuff is amazing if you like checking boxes and you're a completionist, but then, you're asking for it lol.

There is too much mini games and they are time consuming. Og had. Most of the mini games at Golden Saucer. While I was hoping we'd get a lot of mini games I was only expecting mostly in the golden saucer but it's so whole game.

It looks miles better then the blurry mess that was on ps5. Graphics mode made my head hurt and performance was very blurry. Looks and runs great on my pc, if you have the specs to run it

No, even the last patch has those bad transitions.
Moebius Feb 15 @ 6:38am
The lighting is honestly absolutely terrible. Unless the environment/character models are lit by separate spotlights or whatever they're called, it looks really bad. Everything looks like its floating if lit directly by the environment/global illumination

Looks fantastic to me, but that is comparing it to the ps5 version that I played last year.

what do you mean by lighting issues?

I'm playing on PC, and I've only seen the PS5 version briefly through friends.

What I can tell you is that the lighting system is completely different compared to the PS5.

I'm not sure what you mean if the lighting is fixed on PS5.
It's not ray tracing, but the workload is very similar. There are two light rays that pass through the shaders.

This means that GPUs without advanced RT (up to the x30 series) struggle a lot with this game.

Yea, the lighting is not good at certain areas and camera angles. Like staring into the sun.
Interesting

Not really no. I finished the game on PS5. The changes are very minor. Don't get me wrong. It's an improve compared to PS5 but when PS5 has a problem with it, PC also have.

This has nothing to do with RT. 30xx series have problems because they're limited to 8gb of VRAM. One must recuce texture quality so the GPU doesn't strugle.

If you have a very good GPU, like 4070 or above, the game will run at amazing image quality. It's worth just because higher resolution and higher LOD. Do not put this game aside because it's flawed as there's no such thing as the perfect game.

No it's very bad especially in gongaga forest. The bright is too bright and the dark is too dark. Tried on both HDR and SDR, still bad.
I think you mean Auto Exposure and its still bad compated to other games. Some areas it looks like haze/fog and making image washed out. Nothing people using upscaling would even recognize but people playing at maxed setting do. But most times outsides lightning works

this answers my question. I really hate how they did lighting in some areas I won't be replaying it on pc.
