Filip indicated the quarters of 2019, 2020 and 2021. I really hope q4 2021 but i am very skeptical.
Filip has done a fantastic job for half life 2. Update version is amazing.

I wish the game will be released HL2 first, then EP1 and EP2. Probably that allows for a tighter schedule

IIRC Filip plans to have HL2 + Episodes in one exe file.

Incredibly hyped. I just considered playing HL2 Update once more, maybe I'll wait for the new version

Now that this has been covered in news, may I ask what branch of source engine will it use?

Would be nice if the gameplay was also updated similar to MMOD, like maybe add new items or item functions ( like taking sentry guns with you ).

The gameplay will 1:1 be original. Maybe MMOD could be ported to it. Maybe someone will make workshop addons affecting the gameplay. But the developers will not change the gameplay, once again, it's out of the project's scope.
