It's very action heavy and basically Black Flag's ship combat in space, that's more or less what you need to know. Watch a few gameplay videos.
It is Sid Meyers Pirates set in space.
Privateer is so close, right down to some of the scenes, missions and graphics in the RG game. For example, the office of the Merchant guild is practically a direct copy of the one in Privateer.
Note, Privateer is one of my 3 all time favorite games. I really like RG as well. I'm on my first play-through and I'm avoiding the main story line and have been running nothing but side missions for a while now. A feature I really liked about Privateer as well. Enjoy.
Torchlight and TL2 used the Ogre3D C++ graphics engine, as does RG. I used to be a member of the Ogre3D 'community' when it was a thriving and fun place to be. It is a terrific library man.
Then the founder (Sinbad) retired and it was slowly taken over by degenerates (including a person who claimed to be a teacher) who condoned and admired violence against women and children. Creepy as hell man.
The Ogre3D website hasn't been updated in a long time and the forums are a ghost-town now. Sinbad didn't deserve that. But, oh well. All things must end I guess.
