Keyboard stops working
Hey,

I have this weird bug that after a few minutes in-game my keyboard stops working (more precisely: all the buttons except for the multimedia keys).
The first time I thought Windows froze because it didn't react to ESC or ALT+F4 or CTRL+ALT+DEL so I had to do a hard reset. When it happened again I unplugged and reconnected the keyboard, then I could play for another 2 minutes and it happened again.

This has never happened in Windows or any other game before, and after 3 of these incidents during 20 minutes of playing this game I'm certain there's a connection.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something I can do to troubleshoot or some kind of log for the devs to take a look?

I love the game but sadly this makes it unplayable :(

Cheers

Weeeeiiird.

I'm really sorry, I have no idea why that would happen. Please let me know if you find out any more information.

Ugh, technology :(

This happens for me too. I have a Logitech G110 gaming keyboard. I am able to get out of it by unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in again, but the game is not playable after this happens.

What graphics drivers are you running? This apparently can happen with a buggy version of the Nividia drivers, try updating that and see if it helps?

Generally checking that other drivers are up-to-date would be a good idea too, especially keyboard drivers.

Heh, I have the same keyboard. I'm using the default USB-HID drivers that come with Windows 8.1 because I don't like the bloatware that is the Logitech Software.
I'll try installing LGS later tonight and see if that fixes it.

PS. I have an AMD card

I've had the same problem here.
I'm using a Microsoft wired keyboard 600, driver version 9.3.139.0.
I also have an nVidia GeForce 9400 GT, which says its drivers are up-to-date (version 337.88).
I'm using Windows 7.
I really hope this problem can be fixed, as Sokobond looks like an interesting game, but is totally unplayable when I have to unplug my keyboard every minute or two.

I am having the same issue as the others above, using a cheap microsoft keyboard. Never seen this issue before... except now with the Binding of Isaac Rebirth ...

Same issue here with a Logitech G110. I'm on nVidia GeForce drivers 344.60. Updating my logitech drivers as we speak.

I dunno if it helps, but I've had the same issue in Grid Autosport on occasion. It takes much longer, but I have to unplug and replug the keyboard to get it working again.

Still occurs with Logitech Gaming Software 8.57.145, on Windows 7 SP1 x64

Nice game though, I quite like it :) just a bit of an ongoing irritation.

Sokobond messes up my keyboard too (Microsoft 600). I read about this happening in other games (for example, the new Binding of Isaac game). I think it's because the game polls the keyboard too often.

I'm just checking in to say I have this exact same problem, and only a hard reset fixes it. PC is completely unresponsive after a few mins of game time. Seems to happen if I enter quick commands with the keys.

Same.
Logitech G110 Keyboard
ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z Motherboard
AMD FX-8350 CPU
MSI R9-280x GPU

Hope this helps

Just want to say that I still don't have any idea what causes this. Binding of Isaac doesn't use the same engine we do, so it's hard to imagine what the common factor is.

I found this suggested elsewhere, maybe it'll help?

1. Open start menu, right click "Computer" and click "Manage"

2. From the list on the left, select "Device Manager"

3. Within the device manager, open the "Human Interface Devices" drop down list

4. Right click and click disable on all entries starting with "HID-compliant"

This will disable some of your keyboard features like extra buttons and volume control but should solve the problem. You can just enable them after playing anyway
