----------------------------------------------------------------
OK, let me translate my own opinions in English
----------------------------------------------------------------

Truly this MOD developer had some faults. He used a pirate game website(3DM)'s link in this MOD's description, and this action didn't feet steam community's rules, even that link's only purpose is to let that MOD run well in new version. But as one of these angry Chinese players, we are not satisfied is no becasue you obey these rules:

Firstly, your official admins don't get the point about how important this Chinese translation MOD is. For most of Chinese players, a good steam-supported Chinese version is a big attraction when they want to buy games. If there is no Chinese version, a MOD is also OK for us. So imagine some Chinese guys bought this game from steam because there is a Chinese translation MOD for this game, and after this game updating, they find out their game cannot use this MOD anymore, and this MOD's developer got banned. What will they say?

Secondly, think about it. Most of Chinese players know pirate version exists. So here are problems:

How many non-Chinese steam users will check that Chinese translation MOD and read that MOD description which was wirtten by Chinse? NONE.

How many Chinese steam users who have already bought this game will come back to use stupid pirate version? NONE.

How many Chinese steam users who haven't bought that game will come back to use stupid pirate version? NONE, until they find out there are a lot of angry Chinese players in your game's store page, and that is not that link's fault!

At last, your official admins just banned that MOD developer without asking him anything. For us, that MOD developer is a helpful and respectful man, and you didn't show any respects to him, which mean you didn't show any respects to us.

I hope you can understand why we are angry. In fact, we all know this is a good game. And we still want to enjoy it. So Let's wish things will get better, and since that MOD developer said he will never made that MOD again, well... Maybe the only way I think to stop that is to make a offical Chinese version by yourself...

As long as I understood:

1) A user (!!) gave the hint to the devs (ampitude) here at steam, that the guy who made the chinese language mod -> linked to a piracy (!!!) side. No matter what the intention was... it's NOT allowed to support pirate version of Endless Legend. Don't you get it ? So they HAD TO cancel the mod in workshop !!! You know contracts, etc. ? Penalty for things like that ? No ? Not everyone is living in china, where it seems to be normal to copy products... my impressiom atm.

2) The modder did complain about the blocking of his steam-account (!!!). This was in the beginning planned for the length of one day (!!! as long as I understood a reaction from steam - understandable if loosing money by supporting piracy version, not ?) to prevent him to "reinstall" chinese mod immediately (after blocking it) in steam workshop again... BEFORE giving explanation why he linked to a side (link found in description of chinese mod) with pirate version of Endless Legend and having to CONTACT to steam and/or amplitude people !!!!!

3) The modder immediately (didn't try to conatct steam/amplitude before, by using an existing contact email) started a ♥♥♥♥ storm in chinese community... this community doesn't seem to have other inforamtions, then the modder did give them.

4) What the f**k is going on ? Do you guys get anything, or am I totally wrong in your opinion ? Any chinese people out there, that can read english to KNOW what's going on here ? The modder is the nice guy, that didn't fail ? Supporting piracy ?

By the way, as long as I understood, the modder argued like this here:
If a new patch is implemented, the chinese mod doesn't work with. So he linked to a side with an "older" version (i.e. patch before new one) that is cracked. What leads to, that chinese people starting new (!!) with Endless Legend, won't buy it. For what, if I can download and play the cracked version, using the link posted by the modder ?! Am I wrong about ?! Wouldn't it have been more useful, to have contact to developers, to support a chinese language translation, implemented in "original" Endless Legend game ? Sure it was hard work for him, to create that mod. But that doesn''t justify link to pirate side in any case...Perhaps he tried and was ignored ? Can't imagine, thinking about the economical side of that deal... After he got blocked (on steam, FROM steam side, in the beginning planned for one day... as long as I remember) he didn't react for proposal of dialogue from ampitude... Instead he did start ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ immediately, did harm his link to piracy (like you do, owlsleep, sorry), what is crime (outside of china) and seems to be insulted like a 5 years old child since these days. SORRY. I can't undestand this reaction of - not even less people - of chinese Endless Legend community, supporting this guy. I.e. posting bad reviews. What a shame. I don't think the devs from amplitude should be criticised, of what they are not responsible for.

Hi dude,

1) Nobody in these threads supports piracy. The modder wants to use that link to help users fit this mod to their new version game. Because this game uses Unity as its game engine and doing language changing job is more harder than other engines.

2) Trying to connect China and piracy is nonsense here. You and me are both steam users and why must a Chinese user who already bought this game get piracy version in steam community?

3) Yes, it is wrong to put a piracy link in mod's description, but the admins could have some much better ways to ask the modder to get that link disappears instead of directly banned that modder.

The thing is that the people who got crazy is not that modder but many Chinese players, because they have no Chinese version mods. Nor me, I am just a people who walked by and found this interesting thing happened.

Hello,

The 1-day ban from publishing artwork, mods, or screenshots (not posting in the forums) after having a mod removed from the Steam Workshop is a normal step of Steam's process and is not a deliberate attempt to show disrespect. As far as I understand the process, the author will be banned one day for each item which has been removed, so if an author has one item removed, he/she will be banned for one day, and if he/she has 28 items removed, he/she will be banned for 28 days.

The ban's intent is to prevent author's from reposting banned material immediately after having it removed.

You can read the wording Steam provided here:

Your Steam Workshop item [item name] has been banned because it violates the Steam Terms of Service. The [item] is now only visible to you.

You will be unable to publish any user generated content for 1 day (s).

If you believe your item has been banned mistakenly, please contact Steam Support.

I will forward this message to that Chinese forum and let that modder know. The thread in Chinese forum is http://steamcn.com/t198688-1-1. You can find this message at there.

Well, I think I need to say sorry for the articles above. We just don't know about it.

Thank you again for your notice!

Best Regards,

You're welcome!

I hope that Amplitude and Attack.On.Pika, and the other modders involved in the Chinese language mod, will be able to work together to update and publish the mod, so more Chinese-speaking players can enjoy this game.

再见

PS - Please be aware that I am not affiliated with Amplitude. I'm just a player who was concerned about the miscommunication and misunderstandings involved in this situation. Also, if I err in some way, I apologize.

Let me tell you some true stories of China.

Most chinese played pirate version of this game, and Chinese steam users were minority's groups. If they wanted to get a pirate version, they could just go to 3DM, and steam was not that widely used in China. So I didn't know why you were so angry about piracy. Chinese steam users are the ones who buy and support the game, and pirate users never come here.

Sorry for the cultural gap.
