Help me choose the edition of the game (platinum or anthology)
I never played a civilization game before so im a total noob and a few days ago i saw my cousin playing civ 5 and it totally piqued my interest. So obviously i want to jump into the latest one which even he recommended that but im not really sure which one to get as there are quite a bunch of dlcs and different editions to choose from which im guessing they would't be much beginner friendly. What would be the best thing to do here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anthology is everything, Platinum is everything but the New Frontier Pass and the Leader Pass currently being released. It ultimately comes down to how much you are willing to spend and how much content you want. Platinum gives you tons of content already, so if you aren't willing to spend the extra money, you can buy Platinum now and upgrade to Anthology later.

- I am looking for the same answer mate where i so far decided to buy the ordinary game which i know is very good and really don`t need any dlcs to get a nice gaming experience.

I in fact i made a post you may look at : Gathering Storm DLC Question and about the game in general.

So far i may think i gonna by Gathering Storm but i am not sure about Rise and Fall , all those other dlcs got a very bad review and i probably gonna stay away from them all.

Someone on the review even said the Gathering Storm didn`t add enough to the game but "Stormwinds" here may tell us about it :)

Thanks a lot, i think grabbing a platinum edition would be a better move for now since im a total beginner in the game. Might grab the other dlc when i gather more experience from the game. Thanks a bunch once again.

Yeah i agree, if you are just like myself who never played a previous civilization game then i'd suggest doing the same thing as im doing which is grabbing the platinum edition for now and get the other dlc later when you get more experienced in the game. Thanks a ton for replying and i hope you have fun with the game.

- Climate Change
- World Congress
- Power
- Strategic resource rebalancing
- An entire new era

in addition to Rise and Fall's
- Golden Age and Dark Age mechanic
- Loyalty

I have no idea what any of these means but everything sounds soo cool and might add a lot to the game.
Buy as much as you can afford WHEN IT IS ON SALE. At the very least, get Rise and Fall & Gathering storm expansions. Add other DLCs as you can. I have ALL expansions and DLC and it all integrates together well, so as a new player you won't notice what you do and don't have unless you have played before. The game is easy to jump into and play (lower difficulties) but there is a lot of mechanics and depth to learn as you go (ie: religion, optimizing production, tourism, culture, etc.)

Have fun. This is one of my favorite games of all time. (1500+ hours)
