The official Mac thread.
Aspyr is honored to announce the release of Civilization VI Mac!!! This is a thread for all the Apple heads out there. We will do our best to keep the thread updated with the latest information, as well as ongoing Mac details of this amazing game.

First and foremost, lets go over the officially supported system requirements:

Operating System: OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) and MacOS 10.12 (Sierra)
CPU Processor: Intel Core i5 (4 cores)
CPU Speed: 2.7 GHz
Memory: 6 GB
Hard Disk Space: 15 GB
Video Card (ATI): Radeon 6970M
Video Card (NVIDIA): GeForce 775M
Video Card (Intel): Iris Pro
Video Memory (VRam): 1 GB
Peripherals: Macintosh mouse and keyboard, Steam Controller (optional)

Its important to note that our minimum system requirements are based on a comprehensive knowledge of performance throughout the game. In short, we believe the above requirements are enough horsepower to fuel late game and large maps at acceptable frame rates, and we've set the default settings on every Mac for optimal performance within the game itself. Know that turning up any of the default settings will likely result in decreased performance.

We want to give a special shoutout to the fine folks at Firaxis and especially our friends at 2K QA. Without a great deal of cooperation and support from these partners, the Mac release near the Windows release is impossible.

I checked the installation, which did not help. Uninstalled and reistalled the game and rebooted still no good. Frustrating as it ran fine this morning. Sadly now the Civ logo is blue instaed of gold, rice is blue instead of white highlights on clothes and skin are now blue instead of white and certain icons are cut off. I guess I'll go back to Civ 5 for now

Same here, I just came here to see if anyone else had the same issue. No idea how to fix :/
Drop a ticket at http://support.aspyr.com, and they'll help you take a look.

Do y'all happen to be on an ATI card running in 10.11? Our QA ran into an issue that sounds similar to this one, but it's been resolved on the supported GPUs for 10.11. Otherwise, upgrading to 10.12 should resolve it.

I am using an AMD card (an unsupported Radeon 5770) on OS 10.11. Sadly I can't update to 10.12 as my 2008 Mac Pro desktop is not capable. When I purchaed Civ 6 I figured I would run into some issues using an older Mac, but the game woked fine until this latest update. I have opened a ticket with Aspyre, but I expect their answer to be "get a new Mac". Thanks for the advice though.

Update just released! Unfortunately, we were unable to get past some nasty bugs in cross platform play, so we elected to get the update out while we continue to work on those. Our sincere apology for the folks that are still waiting. A reminder, Mac and LInux can still play together.

This describes my situation exactly (same card, same Mac Pro, same version of Mac OS X). Disappointing, because the graphics were working fine before this update.

Is the mac version the same as the pc now? I remembered this caused some issues playing online with civ V

Cross-platform MP hasn't been sorted out yet - Aspyr haven't been able to work out the kinks. Mac and Linux can talk to each other, but not to Windows.

The content is the same, but cross-platform with Windows has not been implemented as we are still working out some immersion-breaking bugs.

I also am in this situation, and I also can't update to 10.12. Might there be some other way to fix this, Aspyr? I have an R9 280x.

Thanks

Don't leave a negative review because you're asking for help. A review is not a discussion.

Got an iMac 27 from '10. El Cap and Win 10. In Windows Civ 6 runs perfectly, in El Cap graphics is grainy (?) and with a blue'ish color on icons and stuff.

How is that possible with same specs ? And can something be done ? TIA :)

I did not leave a reveiw. I don't now how to get it to work. And I have a negitive response becuse I payed money for somthing and it did not give me what it said it would do. I was simply asking for help I was not saying that the game is bad. I enjoy civ but I don't know why the thing I payed for wont work. And I don't know how telling someone that what they said is not part of the discussion is part of the disscussion.
