The official Mac thread.
Aspyr is honored to announce the release of Civilization VI Mac!!! This is a thread for all the Apple heads out there. We will do our best to keep the thread updated with the latest information, as well as ongoing Mac details of this amazing game.

First and foremost, lets go over the officially supported system requirements:

Operating System: OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) and MacOS 10.12 (Sierra)
CPU Processor: Intel Core i5 (4 cores)
CPU Speed: 2.7 GHz
Memory: 6 GB
Hard Disk Space: 15 GB
Video Card (ATI): Radeon 6970M
Video Card (NVIDIA): GeForce 775M
Video Card (Intel): Iris Pro
Video Memory (VRam): 1 GB
Peripherals: Macintosh mouse and keyboard, Steam Controller (optional)

Its important to note that our minimum system requirements are based on a comprehensive knowledge of performance throughout the game. In short, we believe the above requirements are enough horsepower to fuel late game and large maps at acceptable frame rates, and we've set the default settings on every Mac for optimal performance within the game itself. Know that turning up any of the default settings will likely result in decreased performance.

We want to give a special shoutout to the fine folks at Firaxis and especially our friends at 2K QA. Without a great deal of cooperation and support from these partners, the Mac release near the Windows release is impossible.

Hi, I bought the game 1 hour ago, Platinum edition; I'm using Ventura 13.0.1. After downloading, all I get is the message "Civilization VI is damaged and cannot be opened". I've tried installing again and verifying files integrity; the message is always the same. Any idea?

Same thing happened, uninstalling and installing again fixed it for me.

Steam or the Game?
The game, but it seems like that doesn't work for everyone

In Civ VI I unchecked the new DLC which is causing the problem, then uninstalled Steam, then reinstalled Steam, then got a new error message saying I have OS 10.13.6 but OS 10.14.6 is required.

Same thing for me after doing all that 24 hours ago and trying again today several times.

Worked without unchecking DLC`s

1) Right click on "Sid Meier's Civilization VI" in your Steam Library and choose Properties.
2) In the General section find the Launch Option text field.
3) Copy and paste the following text, making sure to replace "YOUR_USER" with your user's account name, in the Launch Option text field referenced in Step 2:

"/Users/YOUR_USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/Civ6.app/Contents/MacOS/Civ6_Exe" %command%

Hope it works for you either.

Since the release of the Leaders Pass package, I cannot open my game anymore. I have not downloaded any update or upgrade. I did everything that Steam's help suggests. Even uninstalled and reinstalled everything (Steam, Civ). Nothing helps. What should I do?

This worked for me to bypass the damaged and cannot be opened etc. However I'm back to the game crashing after a few moves, this is the same crash I had prior to the v1.4.0 update so that hasn't worked for me sadly. Hopefully Aspyr/Steam folks are reading the numerous complaints on here and looking to fix it properly, Hmmmmm.........
