"unable to initialize graphics system"

So I haven't had this game install on my computer for awhile. Has there been some update that has made this game terrible? I have seen other discussions that make it seem that way... It wont even open my game at all. It just say "unable to initialize graphics system"
Can anyone help with this.

I download this weeks ago and I can't play it on my computer, and I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 6. The graphics card might be too advanced. Before that, I bought a Disc Game of this months before this for my Windows 10, said the same thing as this problem.

I loved that game too, I also wished they would have updated it.

I have the same issue. It worked prior, but now wont start with "unable to initialize graphics system" error. I tried reinstalling it but didnt work.

Same here and I have a samsung laptop and it was upgraded to windows 10 I think a year or 2 ago and it shows me the same error message "unable to initalize graphics system." Is there any solutions to fix this or no?

What worked for me was:

Go to the local files, right click on RTC start up file, go to properties, go to the tab 'Compatibility' and then under Compatibility mode select windows 8. Now you should be able to start up the game.

only fix for this i could find that worked was downloading Openrct2. also helps with some others things RCT2 doesnt have

Voxi- How do you find the local files? I just got a new computer- a windows 10 and I'm use to mac, so windows things are more foreign to me. Any help you could provide would be awesome.

rct 2 hasnt worked for me in like 3 years with this same problem and on 3 dif pcs. Openrct2 was a mod made for the rct community by the rct. lets you resize to larger screen, fixed some hotkeys, made a few things easyr and faster, play mutliplayer online, twitch stream, AND CHEATS

Option one:
Run in Windows XP SP 2 compatability mode.
(May or May not work depending on video drivers. You may need to install some runtimes not shipped with Windows anymore.)

Option two:
Use OpenRTC2

Option three:
Run in SteamPlay under Linux (Yeah, Linux SteamPlay is more compatible with quite a few old Windows games than Windows 10. It's a sad day for Microsoft, and a Good day for Linux Users.)

Thanks for the guide, it worked for me. I'm using Windows 10.
