Immediate crash on start up.
I hit 'launch' and immediately get a "maize.exe has stopped working" message. I've varified the game catch and it says all files are verified. Went into the steam folder and tried to play as administrator and recieve the error message that "api-ms-win-crt-string-l1-1-0.dll" is missing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing changed.

My computer:
Windows 8.1
64-bit Operating System x64-based processor
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4510U
CPU @ 2.00GHz 2.60 GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB

This game seems really cool, really want to play it. :(

Try to install the vs_redist.64.exe. It's in the Maize/_CommonRedist/vcredist/2015 folder.

Yes, good idea to install the redist. Did this help you? If there are issues with that install, can you please try the following link and find the appropriate x64 (64bit) package for your Windows version to install?

Thanks!

I did what was suggested, and the game actually launched, got to the main menu, but when I hit "new game" I'm taken to a loading screen that sits there for a minute or two before the game crashes.

Hi Zee6363, can you please send me the following?
1) DxDiag.txt
Press the "Windows key + R" to open a Run window and type dxdiag and hit enter
Wait for it to fully load and then hit "Save All Information"
Please save the DxDiag.txt

2) Saved folder
Press the "Windows key + R" to open a Run window and type %localappdata% and hit enter
This will open a Windows Explorer window
Navigate to the Maize directory
Right click on Saved and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder

Please email the Saved.zip and DxDiag.txt to MaizeSupport@finishlinegames.com
When you email the details please note the Build version number in the bottom right of the Main Menu. Thanks!

Same happened to me (gog version). I have 4GB of RAM (3,4 free when the game launch). After I start a new game it swallows all the RUM and starts to fill the swap file during an infinite loading screen. I think it might be the problem that 4GB of RAM is simply not enough to play this game regardless of what HW requirements says.

Hello!
I think i have the same problem like you with "Maize",i bought it yesterday and i dont rly have any ideas what should i do...
Btw i tried to play this game from 2 kind of computer(laptop, simple computer)

1.On the computer, i am not able to launch the game, when i try to hit the "Play" button, the game writes this back to me: Failed to start the game (Invalid Platfrom) i already tried to "verify integrity of game cache" too many times.

2. On the laptop, i am able to launch the game, but when i try to click on to the "new game" button, it starts to loading for like 4-5 minutes and then it freezes.I already tried to copy this: [SystemSettings]
r.MotionBlurQuality=0
to the bottom of the Engine.ini "folder".
But i am not sure to i did it well.

Please can anyone help to me, i am not at home in this area... :/

Thank you, Nickman
