did I hit a world record
I'm currently on my 22nd streak of consecutive fireworks. like, no kidding (I take a screenshot of every pet I get, and my last one was 12-26-2018 if that's any indication)

This is really unacceptable. I spend hours to get tokens, only to get fireworks, which I view as useless due to being consumable. I'm glad they added oranges since getting a common means that I can still make progress on my crates, but once I reach the point where I got Everything, I might just stop using the Arcade at that point.

Wasn't there a plan regarding "pity system"? What happened to that? What needs to be done, other than accept my abysmal luck?

Save your tokens for now. They're working on it, supposedly.
Oof, yeah that's pretty bad. I had like, 15 times nothing but fireworks, then a stupid Chicken (i already had one), and then another 11+ fireworks so far. So that's pretty shoddy luck on my end too. What's worse is that the 10 oranges they give you are useless to me, since i already collected everything orange-based!

Well, atleast i had some notable luck at the start with getting some rare pets, but now... Ah well... No point in spending any more tokens if all i'm getting is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ common duplicates every 10 spins (that being the most GENEROUS estimate).
I got to 10/10 on fireworks before they posted that a pity system would happen. I've been saving tokens ever since. Presently up to 102 arcade tokens (34 spins), 8 exchange tokens, 19 hours of my life I'll never get back, 2 updates that haven't added the pity system, 1 burning sense of impatience for the most urgent update the game needs, and 1 newfound hatred for awful design.

The chance of the first 22 spins all being fireworks is about 0.7%, or 1 every 136 people. Rare but possible. I feel for you. But do save your tokens now.

The pity system has to involve spins. Ideally a spin where the common outcome is eliminated and everything else is scaled linearly (uncommon 60%, rare 30%, super rare 10%). If they just dump an uncommon pet into your inventory that solves practically nothing.

Hm, perhaps, but i'd rather have an tradable uncommon/common pet then even more ♥♥♥♥ing fireworks, fireworks is the one thing i don't ♥♥♥♥ing want as a pity reward, if it turns out to be something uncommon or unique (in terms of colour or pet), then all the better.

So yeah, an alternative would be to grant a unique colour of a pet you own (especially if it selected a common pet as "reward"), or just a straight-up unique pet after enough spins, instead of being 100% at the system's mercy, if one wants a new pet. (Edit: Could be a unique pet after a LOT of spins, if absolutely needed... But then we'd still need a regular pity drop system, too.)
I guess duplicates and commons are still tradable and exchangable for rare colour variants

Meh, some say you get pets like, every 4-6 spins, but i'm seriously starting to doubt that. If only it was as lenient as the Orange Bag system, atleast you can get more oranges and in larger quantities to make up for failed attempts (which cost only 50% of what a succesful attempt would've).

I know your frustration all too well. I went 18 spins before I got my first pet, which was an uncommon. I've had some pretty bad luck with getting pets from the arcade while my friends seem to have amazing luck. One of them got 2 super rare (Fruit bat and Red Barrel) as well as a Seagull on their first 5 spins. Another got 3 Rare pets in a row. Seeing them get all of these amazing spins while I just get oranges is really annoying because I keep thinking my luck has to turn around at some point so I've been spending my arcade coins each time.

Thankfully my friends have had pity on me and have let me trade fireworks for the pets they have duplicates of.

Just confirming that this is exactly the case, you can get any type of pet and with those probabilities.

Wait, hold up. Is it actually a spin? Because the update didn't say that. It said you just get handed a pet.

It being a spin is the crucial factor to whether this is the ideal fix or a total non-fix.
Just got a pity reward and I can confirm that you are instantly handed a reward immediately upon getting your tenth common drop in a row.
