I've been in Quake Live since 2009. Yeah, since beta with an achievements like "First to fight" for getting through the queue and so on. I had a great time during these 5 years (I'm counting since release), found friends, foes and rivals. Conquered countless arenas and farmed awards and glory. And I was not alone, there was a legion of fans, pros and newbies.

I hope you've realized, that the title is ironic. If not, I'd like to clarify: it was sarcasm. There's no possible way I can thank person or a team who purged, truncated, nullified the entire statistics, awards and progress we've earned during past 5 years. What the actual hell were you thinking? Oh, let's start from scratch - 5 years is nothing. Old nicknames and clans? Screw it, we'll give them steam achievements!

Of course I've been participating in tournaments and leagues only for the opportunity to get a 5-years-old deja vu: "Welcome to Quake Live, my name is Crash". Really? Okay. But you didn't kill Quake. Anyone, but you. We'll carry on. However, awards are only bits in database. But what you have done I consider the most disgusting disrespect to playerbase I've seen in my entire life.

The centralized community was the thing. Not the mechanics, awards or stats. My friendlist, my foes and rivals - that was my QL.

All keep playing you will find each other again, I have added 5 names already and more to come. In the grand schemes of things does it really matter it is just a game. The only person who really cares about your stats is you and you know what you achieved thats all that matters.

That earnestly would have been better than this. I had like probably 40-50 people in my friendlist. I mean, it seems like there is even voice chat now. LOL. This isn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Call of Duty or whatever. Why does Quake need voice chat? So I can listen to pathetic intern employees saying "Ooh this is fun herr derr" who probably never played Quake their whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ life and believe this version even resembles what Quake was?

Ermm tried it. Paid 10 bucks. Thought the only difference was going to be the game client itself or launcher. Boy was I wrong. Names gone, friends gone, clans gone, stats gone, physics/sens changed, interface screwed up and ugly, chat text looks weird like someone picked the worst font they could possibly find, the match browser is terrible. It's no wonder there are like 3 servers with people in them. And they are all new names I don't recognize. It's just employees/interns. No old players will stay.

Cool, man. I was on earlier. I'm not going to be back on tonight because I'm sick and I'm just gonna watch TV here for a while. But for sure I am in the CROM, Adults Only, Lightening, and Thunder servers. Maybe we can get some people to get CA popular over there again.
