Joshua.exe Stopped working Need Help!
Hi I just got Superpower 2 but i can t start it, its really annoying since i just paid for a game i already have. Please can someone help

Hello,
Please make sure redists are installed properly especially vcredist. You can manually install them from this folder:
STEAM\steamapps\common\SuperPower 2\Redist

Yea just clicked it and ran it again, but its still doing the same, going to reinstall now.

The reinstall didnt work either this is really annoying.

Can you post the "Joshua_Client.log" from the "STEAM\steamapps\common\Superpower 2" folder directly after the issue happened.

Running into similar problem. The game runs fine for 5-30min and then I get a joshua runtime error. I'm gonna try a reinstall next. Found this in the joshua server notes and log:

for some reason, your local server receives the event to disconnect, and it forces a quit from the client. If you're not the one closing the client yourself (which I guess you'd know), then the close comes from somewhere else from your system.

You have to know that, even in single player mode, the game creates a server on your machine. If you look at the task bar, you'll see two applications running - the SP2 client (the graphic window) and another top-level window called "Joshua". That's the game server. Single-player mode behaves in every way like a multi-player game, except that your server is local and locked to just yourself. This enabled us to use a single communication pipeline for every game.

The possible disadvantage though is if something like this occurs. This could be done by an anti-virus software that doesn't like the idea of these two processes opening connections between one another, or it could be caused by another process/application that locks or otherwise prevent these communications. From your logs, this is quickly (late on a saturday night :-) ) how I'd interpret it.

So check your anti-virus for any possible activity, firewall, or anyone else that would prevent port 5555 from being opened between the two processes. If this doesn't help, please post back and we'll see what we can do to fix your issue.

PS - note that the two logs that you posted don't overlap, so they don't seem to point to the same thing. If you post back logs, please be sure to isolate the same areas in every log that mention them so we'd know the timeline and be better equipped to help.

Hey, I cannot even start up my game, I installed it and it immediately crashes, I brought up the Joshua logs and this is what it said:

So what is causing the error initializing the Joshua file, that is obviously causing this to crash? I'm confused and slightly frustrated at the fact I may have wasted $8

If it can help, Joshua stop working each time I annex "Cape Verde". More, I can't fight against the army of Cape Verde, I can only bombard this land with a ship. Strange :-/
