Yeah I get the player dude screen with the 2K logo and then back to desktop also. I'd verify the Steam files for the game, but it'll take an hour to finish 40 something gigs :(

Im not sure man, my game works perfect. did u restart your computer? I have had no probs with it. also whats your specs? Im running a 3.2 quad core with 12gigs of ram and a Nvida 745 graphics card.

Did you log into 2k? That's probably the reason why you can't start your game. Try unplugging your ethernet cable and start the game again

I had no option to log into 2K, it simply loaded to the 2K screen logo and then back to desktop.

I'm on an 2.5 Ghz 8-core AMD, 8 gigs of ram and an AMD R9 280x

I'm having the same problem, the furthest it will go is to the logos
It keeps exiting on the loading screen

Me too. It flashes KD then back to desktop.
i7 4.2 ghz 12 gb ram, Win 7, Nvidia GTX560 ti x2 SLI (I've tried turning off SLI, same thing)
This is SO FRUSTRATING.

I'm looking at the local files and I just see a bunch of HUGE files, it seems the game is still packaged. I'm "Verifying Game" cache, how do I unpack it? My HD is already filling up, is that the issue? (Will try freeing up more space)

Freed up 111 Gigs total. Re-Downloading now. (I'm assuming it unpackages itself when the download is complete? and since I didn't have enough room that's why I had problems?)

I had 600 gigs free and it decided not to unpack, tried a 2nd time after the preload with no luck

Last year I pre-ordered from amazon and it took me 3 days to get my code. (They gave me $10 off though) and I guess there have been lots of Issues with the 2k Servers on launch, it seems lately NBA2k's launches have seriously sucked.... Really dissapointing. This is probably the #1 game I've been looking forward to since it was announced that the PC version was next gen, and $60 is alot of money for me to drop on a game.

I tried the whole local file verifying crap didnt work.

Yeah I tried that too, said everything was fine, but the issue was still there. Still re-downloading (This is my Third time actually) not optimistic.

damn man took 3 hours to download, I got disconnected, i dont know if that caused corruption file to go bad or not

Yep download #3 and it still doesn't play.
Kevin Durant, to Desktop. No error, just wont start.
If I browse to the local files I see this. http://i62.tinypic.com/2dvobcz.jpg
Looks like encrypted data to me, but I don't know for sure.
Help us Steam!
