I played this game a while ago, not on Steam, and I really cannot comprehend how this game had such success. It's nothing but a slightly interactive story at best: most of the time all you'll do is push some buttons and levers, the puzzles aren't puzzles at all, most of the monsters are ridiculously easy to avoid and run away from, the only one I've ever found hard to escape was the teleporting guy in the ship and there's only ONE choice you can make, that changes nothing. Sure, the story is pretty good...

But not subnautica or iron lung and not fishing games and not assassin creed, but games where you can move around underwater yourself I really liked in soma walking around underwater , its very calm soothing & mysterious with sometimes eerie moments because you never know what could be watching you from distance. I see lots of potential in this , lots of interesting mechanics can be applied, especially for a shooter or survival horror....
