This is a really dumb thing and there isn't really an excuse for it.
Well there is a reason for it and its because it uses your steams download region for grouping multiplayer servers. Its also really not hard for them to invite you to the game they are in either.
Try launching the game as an admin
Have player A host game
Rest of players refresh to find game lobby, join if they can
Player A invites others to game
Rest of players accept
While it has "hotjoin" up, rest of players search the game list for the host player, use an easy to spot tag to make this easier (the invite seems to allow the server to be seen)
They exit the hotjoin screen and then attempt to join the players game by clicking it and putting in applicable password
This works for my group very well and seems to be our only way as of right now.
nevermind xD realised it automatically done it for me. Fixed the stuttering issues! thanks so much guys, such a great game!
Edit: figured it out, but it didn't help. Still get to 82% and crashes.
Run both steam and stellaris as administrator
Also try deleting the settings.txt file in
\My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\settings.txt
However if you relaly relaly want to revert back to 1.0.0 you can do so in the betas tab now. Select the 1.0.0 pulldown in the BETAS section
