A carrier with all systems up is just too strong the Gaalsien Carrier with all power levels on maximum would be the only unit you need to fight, which goes against the game design (its powers systems are: speed, carrier hp regen, weapons and range system. Imagine a Carrier that can move faster than your whole fleet, outpower and outrange most of your weapons and also regens itself?
I don't mind having to switch between categories as the situation demands. But the way the game is, you can't even do that.
So even if you have two points left over, you can't even put them to use.
in the final battle, you can run a total of I think 9 pips, but you cannot go over 3 pips in one category, and 2 in another. or whatever variation. When in previous missions you could run upwards of 12 points, though you may have 15 or mor points to allocate.
even if you get all the upgrades, you still cannot allocate your total number of points, no matter what you allocate them to.
Although I am not sure when that will be.
In the final mission I was only able to run to level 3 in range/guns and level 2 (maybe 3) in missiles for a total of 9-12 total points allocated, which is less than the previous two or three missions.
In previous missions I could run a full 10 points into at least 1 category.
Level 1 = 1 pt
Level 2 = 2 pt (plus 1 pt from lvl 1) [3 pts total]
Level 3 = 3 pt (plus 1 pt from lvl 1 + 2 pts lvl 2 +3 pts lvl 3) [6 pts total]
Level 4 = 4 pt (plus 1 pt from lvl 1 + 2 pts lvl 2 +3 pts lvl 3 + 4 pts) [10 pts total]
at lvl 4 on any category, creates an overheat situation, in the last mission. So at most you can only run at level 3 on any given category.
In this iteration, if you have any missed rsources or upgrads, at the end of a level or round, they are not collected or added. SO you have to play much differently... and NOT kill the objective object or vehicle, until AFTER you have collected everything, which makes some of the gameplay nearly impossible, or at least extremely difficult.
