General Guide: Fixing CPU, GPU, or FPS Issues in Game
If you're experiencing stuttering, low FPS, crashes, or overheating while playing Battlefield 6 (or any other game), this guide will help you troubleshoot and optimize your system.

1. Keep Everything Updated
Outdated software can cause performance issues and instability.
• Update your BIOS/UEFI from your motherboard manufacturer’s website.
• Install the latest chipset drivers from AMD or Intel.
• Update your graphics drivers using NVIDIA GeForce Experience, AMD Adrenalin, or Intel Arc Control.
• Make sure Windows is fully updated via Settings > Windows Update.
• Ensure your game is fully patched through your launcher (Steam, EA App, etc.).

2. Clean Install of GPU Drivers
A fresh install can resolve lingering driver conflicts.
• Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode to remove old GPU drivers.
• Reinstall the latest drivers from the official NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel website.

3. Optimize In-Game Settings
Adjust settings to balance visuals and performance.
• Lower demanding options like shadows, textures, and anti-aliasing.
• Disable V-Sync if it causes input lag or stuttering.
• Enable upscaling technologies:
• DLSS (NVIDIA)
• FSR (AMD)
• XeSS (Intel)
• Try switching between fullscreen, windowed, and borderless windowed modes — some setups perform better in one than the others.
• Disable in-game overlays and telemetry features if they cause instability.
• Experiment with launch options like or to force a specific DirectX version.

4. Monitor Temperatures and Usage
Overheating or throttling can cause major issues.
• Use tools like HWMonitor, MSI Afterburner, or HWiNFO to check CPU and GPU temperatures and usage.
• Clean dust from fans and heatsinks.
• Ensure proper airflow inside your case.
• Reapply thermal paste if necessary (advanced users only).
• Use a performance overlay (like Xbox Game Bar or MSI Afterburner) to monitor FPS and system load in real time.

5. Close Background Apps
Free up system resources for gaming.
• Open Task Manager and end high-resource tasks.
• Disable unnecessary startup programs via Task Manager > Startup tab.
• Enable Game Mode in Windows for automatic optimization.
• Disable hardware acceleration in apps like Discord, Chrome, or Spotify to reduce GPU load.

6. Adjust Power Settings and BIOS Options

8. Verify Game Files and Storage Health
Corrupted files or slow drives can cause crashes and stuttering.
• On Steam: Right-click the game > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity.
• On EA App: Click the game > Manage > Repair.
• Install the game on an SSD for faster load times and smoother performance.
• Use tools like CrystalDiskInfo to check drive health.
• Free up disk space — low storage can affect performance.

9. Scan for Malware

Also, try Nvidia driver 577.00 version. this solved my FPS drop issue.

It's useless because a lot of the crashes are happening due to memory leaks and DLSS/XESS being enabled.
keep everything updated is such a wrong assumption,it doesnt always apply to every case.

i can give some example, like i play forza horizon 5 and use 3090ti and new 5000series drivers after 560.81 does make every non 4-5000 series users crash every half an hour periodically. nvidia attempted fixing it twice with newer versions, and thought they did and they still believe it but nothing changed.

again there re many games with similar situations, for ex back in the day some AC games didnt give me more than 30fps apart from few select old drivers.

in case of bf6, we dont have a choice, client ensures/forces you to be up to date but there s nothing beneficial for non 4000-5000 users with newer drivers anymore. contrary it gives more trouble.

again checking for bottlenecks are meaningless if you dont have money to upgrade your rig, if its an old rig, it most likely complete overhaul, just like gathering a fresh pc.

1) game usually launch , for specific OS , drivers so "NO" , stop with this insanity "keep" your drivers up to date . updating drivers will be only to fix bug/drivers issues or security measure . some game'll require to update on some specific drivrers , but it may work for the specific game not for your others game .

2) even i agree for a "clean" install , like as i said on 1) , update if its for technical issue , security fix from the constructor ( don't forget compatibility issue )

3) new trend on AAA , tend to use max power drow on cpu /gpu . lowering grahics in those game will mostly put the task on your cpu , the ideal its to min/max out graphics to put task properly on GPU and avoiding bottleneck .
to resume even there's some generallity , user need to do adjustement based on his own setup :) .

4) all those tools running in background is good for monotoring , but be aware , for some game , with anti cheat software , won't launch ( and for others game than can work , specially for MSI afterbunner )

the crazy part for graphics setting , working as freelance sound designer/ composer audio , with my experience working on game industry .
over the years , the setting graphics in game have changed .

sorry , not very fluent in english , i'll try to explain :)
at first setting graphics were mostly focus to set min / max value on some parameters linked on budget ( compute , call events , rendering , audio .. ,)

now they work more like a "swtich" to toglgle , sub routine presets graphics .
for example its mosrtly how it works on console setting graphics .
at a certain value , game engine witll enable or not , pipeline rendering , task and co ..

this is part its quite tricky for pc now .
a certain value on setting graphics will favor CPU instead or gpu , and/or limit other range value for other setting .

this is why , all video on benchmark performances that focus individual setting're all wrong :)
I really want to emphasize number 7 here - check for bottlenecks. It seems in the past five or 6 years we've got a ton more PC gamers either brand new or migrating from console. And their strategy has basically been the following:

1) Buy potato computer at Walmart with a 2060 for like 400 bucks.
2) 2 years later put a 4090 in it and upgrade nothing else. Cyberpunk FPS such wow.
3) 2 years later put a 5090 in it and upgrade nothing else. Cyberpunk FPS such wow.
4) Play their first CPU intensive game in BF6.
5) Go on video game forums everywhere and shout, "HEY DEVS, WHY DON'T YOU OPTIMIZE YOUR GAME, YOU IDIOTS, MY RIG RUNS CYBERPUNK AT 100+ FPS."

you're wright , but since few years it'll become more irevalant since dev like as said tend to build PC version as same of console on budget and allocate ressource .

to resume , engine will detect for task , the proxy priority on budget . if CPU can't to do the task on the pipeline ( for a target performance ) , the task will move on GPU allocated budget/ressource .

for example now , for audio processing on real time , tools engine let us set a parameter ( swtich dynamic ) for cpu/gpu compute task .. before we're stuck on cpu budget/ressource

but like you said , if cpu and gpu ( and all other hardware , bandwich , bus , pci ) 're paired , user'll get issues .. a task on cue too fast on one side and for example a cpu too slow to handle all process ..

about optimization ,the sad reallity , on big AAA , no more spend on developpers tools for the engine , no more deveppors specialized on hardware . just plenty "artist" best à producing assets or recycling assets lol ..

its like those AAA studio switching on UE5 , cut off all specialized deve , migrate assets on UE5 , do some BP widgets , and jobs its done , then ask Unreal staff to explain the engine .. or outsourcing deep omptimization , netcode .. lol

Fosbite , Decima , UE5 're really great engine ,but without proper dev , don't expect opitimzed game at launch :)
