I played alittle bit of Dishonored, Not a lot. From what I saw the two games are very similar gameplay wise.
Powers in Dishonored = Augmentions in Deus Ex
Both games you can play how you want, run around slaughtering everyone and the game world changes based on that. Or take a stealth approach. I'd say the main differences in the two are story and pace. Deus Ex has alot more conversations and even has a Conversation battle system, were you can persuade people into doing things they would not normally do. Deus Ex is bit slower paced then Dishonored. Also Deus Ex has a cover mechanic that has to be used in Combat and Stealth, as even with the combat augmentations you are not a walking tank and can die very quicky out of cover.
Other then the World, Gameplay is pretty similar. Deus Ex takes place in a realistic future enviroment and Dishonored in a mythical steampunk world. I'm sure if you loved Dishonored you will love Deus Ex.
I personally think Deus Ex series is the best ever made with the Thief Series being a close 2nd. Garrett in Thief imo is the best character in any video game I have ever played.
Deus Ex however is more static, in that while stuff you do impacts the world to a certain degree, it dosen't really impact the story. It ends based on one of 4 choices you make at the very end, so rather than replaying the game to get the endings you can simply load up a save from just before you make the choices and watch them play out.
Wile i love Deus Ex, i prefer Dishonoured approach since it has higher replayability, since you need to replay it to get the different endings, and do things differently as well. At the price of Desu Ex at the moment though i highly reccomend it, it's amazing game with a few bugs, and odd game mechanics.
For example, the hacking in Deus Ex is a cop out. even if you know the access codes you hack because there's a LOT of XP and credits to be gotten doing it. Watch TB's first impressions of the game, he highlights the flaws in the mechanics pretty well, as well as the fact the game still kicks ass with them :D Oh and it's spoiler free, so it wont ruin the story for you

i played dishonored, and there is NO DIFFERENCE exept for final cutscene in different playthrough. if you are talkin about more enemies, even thats not true, only thing i noticed in my lethal playthrough is one more tallboy in the three sisters mission.
to op: deus ex is maybe a bit harder. but still not very hard. dishonored was very easy too but yea, it is similiar.
Thats the point i was making. the ending of deus Ex is exactly the same, it's different cut scenes that you get by making a choice at the end. Your playstyle has NO impact on it at all. You could do the game completely stealthy and not kill a sould, or go on a murdorous rampage. It's all irrelevant to the ending, since it's just a choice.
In dishonored though it's different, the ending is based on your play style of the game. you can't just go back to the last save and make a different choice. That aspect of the gmae is what makes dishonored stand out from Deus Ex, it's adaptive to how you play, where as Deus Ex isn't.
As i said though that dosen't make Deus Ex a bad game, because it isn't, i love it and still do play it occassionally. But it dosen't have the replayability value of Dishonored
i will say it once again: there is nothing changing about dishonored no matter how you play. even conversations with characters are designed to work both ways and never change. only rats and sweepers.
