Dreadweave FAQ
Is there a demo?

Yes, definitely. We will try to release a demo as soon as possible, once the game is in a workable state so that we can all test it together, fix bugs, and also receive valuable feedback from the community, as well as your ideas that we can implement in the game.

What were your inspirations?

We were inspired by many of Stephen King's works and the Stranger Things series. As for the frosty setting, it’s the stories about the secret Soviet cities up north and the surrounding elements in general. Essentially, anything mystical, mysterious, and military-related with experiments has inspired us.

How much RNG is in the game?

Each mission in the game starts from a random location. Loot, monsters, and traps in each session are generated randomly, so no two sessions will be alike.

How long is the campaign?

We plan to create a quest chain system with an overarching plot. That means, each session you're given a specific quest, if you complete it, the next session will progress the storyline and provide another quest. Currently, we're making the first map on an island, and then we will add a mainland city part, so the storyline will be quite lengthy.

Can I remap controls?

Yes, of course, the game will have many settings.

Does it support 4K / Ultrawide monitors?

Certainly, we're using the powerful Unreal Engine which supports everything possible.

Does it run at 60 FPS?

It depends on your configuration. We're using UE 5.3 which is a bit more demanding than version 4, but much prettier. For ultra high settings and 60 FPS, we recommend something on the level of an RTX 4060. However, we haven't conducted optimization work yet, so I think it will improve.

What engine did you build it in?

Unreal Engine 5 is the most modern engine and we have been using it for over three years.

Is there multiplayer or co-op?

You can play either solo or in cooperative mode online.

Any plans to support Linux / Mac?

Yes, Linux support is in the plans once we've completed the main game development work.

Will there be modding support?

Most likely not for now, but if many players request it, we may introduce modding support.

Does it support controller/keyboard?

Mouse and keyboard. Controller support will be looked into closer to the end of development since the game is very dynamic with complex inventory management requiring very quick reactions, so it might be too challenging to play on a controller :)

When will it be released?

We're planning for early 2025, provided the monsters don't break through into our world first.

Will there be achievements?

Yes, the game will feature a variety of achievements.

Also, add your questions so we can include them in the FAQ.
