Extra Tech options for Exosuit/Spaceship/Multitool/Freighter
Exosuit
New Tech
  • Shock Armor: Reduces self-damage from Plasma Launcher and Geology Cannon to 33% of your shields. Knocks you backwards (bomb-jumping)
  • Exosuit Visor: An auto-clearing visor that reduces the visual effects associated with environmental hazards (this probably could benefit just as much just being something in the options menu honestly)
Upgrade Options
  • Refiner Cell: Separate upgrade module that provides a recharging battery for the Personal Refiner. It's powered by solar energy, as well as your exosuit's kinetic energy (charges during the day and when sprinting) and lasts for 1 minute.
  • Emergency Shield Charger: A module that has two functions. One is to enable you to manually recharge your Exosuit shields with Catalytic materials or Ion batteries. The other is to automatically restore 50% of your suit's shields when your underlying health has been reduced to half. However, this breaks the technology when this occurs.
  • Recoil Jet: Upgrade tech that combines with the Rocket Boots. This enables you to perform the rocket-jump (double-tap jump button) while in midair, enabling long distance air dashes.
  • Stacking Airburst Engines: Enable the player to install up to three copies of this tech for massively improved mid-air recharging.

Spaceship
New Tech
  • Aerodynamic Vent: Massively increases your spaceship's speed while at high altitudes within a planet's atmosphere.
  • Topographic Scanner: Allows the spaceship scanner, while within a planet's atmosphere, to seek out a greater number of resources and landmarks.
  • Terraforming Scanner: When installed, the Terraforming Scanner shows extra details about planets before landing on them including: severity of storms if present, flora and fauna levels, habitation of the planet (presence of outposts, trading posts, and other structures that sentient aliens live in), and presence of other resource types (salvaged tech, vortex cubes, etc.)
  • Automated Turret: Ship-mounted gun that will fire weak lasers on nearby hostile targets. Has upgrades that increase firing range, damage, speed, accuracy, and several other tech types that enable it to intercept incoming projectiles or automatically mine nearby asteroids with a toggle.
  • Storage Caches: Enables you to access your personal storages (from containers 0-2) from your ship. These not only improve carrying capacity, but also can be used to hide valuables from pirates.
  • Traveler's Scanner: Adds a filtering mode while warping for systems you've already visited, including highlighting systems you might've visited via portal. Also highlights systems that have been inhabited by player bases - Unvisited systems are grey, Ones you've visited are orange, ones visited by portal are green, while ones that are settled by other players are purple.
  • Emergency Navigation Computer: Simple tech that enables you to summon your ship even while in combat.

Upgrade Options
  • Targeting Computer: Special Upgrade for the Missile Launcher. While using the missile launcher, zoom-in on your target (RMB on PC) to prime targeting. Crosshairs show up on target(s) you've locked on, and then you may fire the Missile Launcher to send out homing missiles at each scanned target.
  • Other general Missile Launcher upgrades: including Damage, Missile Speed, Salvos (launch more shots before overheating) and Range. There should NOT be options for faster cooldown or fire rate: keep the Missile Launcher strictly an alpha-strike option. It's otherwise fine as it is for this purpose.
  • Quantum Shifter: Upgrade for the Pulse Engine, Quantum Shifter causes beneficial deep-space events (anomaly detection, trade communications, etc) to happen more frequently.
  • Pulse Scrambler: You're invisible while using the Pulse Engine, and Hostile Scans will never succeed during it.

Multitool
New Tech
  • Jetpack Overdrive: Secondary Weapon Option. Use RMB to make quick, short-distance dashes either across the ground or in midair with a burst of energy from your jetpack. Upgrades can improve the Jetpack Overdrive's distance, fuel efficiency, and possibly add invulnerability frames during its use.
  • Neutron Bayonet: With this tech equipped on your multitool, melee attacks (Q) deal improved damage and can stun some enemies.
  • Personal Cloaking Device: Secondary Weapon Option. Use RMB to become harder to detect, bending light waves on your exosuit to match your surroundings. It does not make you fully invisible, and enemies will still be able to track you if they see you activate the PCD. However, if you're not spotted activating the PCD, it makes it very hard for sentinels or predators to spot you.
Upgrades improve its energy efficiency, cloaking success rates, and a special upgrade for sentinel scrambling can enable faster Sentinel threat decay while it's active.
  • Plasma Charge: A primary weapon that deploys plasma bombs that stick to surfaces or enemies. Fired with LMB, these charges have low range, and are detonated by using the RMB. They also inflict some terrain damage, making them usable both as a weapon and as a precision excavation implement.
  • Stasis Beam: Primary weapon that fires a mining-laser esque beam. The stasis beam doesn't deal damage, but will gradually slow targets that you focus the beam on, until they are entirely stopped for a limited period of time. More effective on organic targets, such as wildlife and monstrosities, and ideal for collecting living samples or providing more leeway for taming a predator.
  • Architect Drone: The small camera orb on your backpack can detach and fly around with this upgrade. When you are in construction-camera mode while base-building, this activates and will allow your camera to travel twice as far as normal.

Upgrade Options
  • Survey Computer: Upgrade to the Survey Visor which automatically can detect hotspots. When within 100U of a hostpot, an icon will appear in the lower-right indicating the presence of one (do not generate sound to minimize annoyance).
  • Analysis Visor upgrade for improved rock/flora/fauna scanning speed.
  • Combat Visor upgrades for zoom strength and accuracy boost of your current weapon. Special upgrade possibility for auto-targeting which will highlight weakpoints on your targets.
  • Personal Forcefield upgrades for wider-angle coverage, reduced energy usage, and faster movement while deployed.
  • Terrain Manipulator upgrades for larger manipulation ranges, improved ore yield from deposits, and a special upgrade that enables constructing/depositing ore in your inventory for crafting terrain sculptures from metal.

Freighter
The most important possibly to include: there's basically no use of Salvaged Frigate Modules once you have everything in the (very small) Freighter Research Tree, aside from money.
New Tech
  • Orbital Cannon: When the freighter has been called to your location while on a planet, you have the option to fire an Orbital Cannon that deals damage in a wide area of the ground. Can only be used infrequently (once every hour+). Upgrades improve its area and accuracy.
  • Bridge Teleporter: Tech that expedites the process of moving between your spaceship and your freighter. It's just a floating teleporter platform that shows up next to your landed ship, which goes to the freighter bridge and back.
  • Repair Drones: If a frigate takes damage and has been recalled, Repair Drones can analyze the resources required to repair frigates from the bridge, and be deployed if the freighter is equipped with the resources to do so.
  • Frigate Salvage Pod: Consumable that can be assigned to a frigate mission that will recover raw resources from other destroyed frigates, if either during the current mission or if previously-destroyed frigates are found.
  • Frigate Shield Battery: Will reduce the chances of frigates on a mission becoming damaged.
  • Freighter Communication Array: Enables you to trade, communicate, or interact with (attack???) other Freighters that are in the same system as you.
  • Starboard Balcony: Adds an external platform below the Freighter Bridge outside, where you can build more things, and possibly accidentally jump to your death.
  • Transport Room: A teleporter room that allows you to teleport from your Freighter, into either previously visited bases/stations/etc you've visited (similar to all other portals) or to the current system's station or any of the planets, even if you haven't visited them yet. Note it will not provide you the option to teleport TO your freighter (apparently this used to be a thing? and it caused mondo bugs.)

Upgrade Options
  • Teleport Receiver upgrade that enables exocraft usage even when the freighter cannot be summoned (mainly for usage in places you've portaled to where you cannot summon a freighter)
  • Options to upgrade Freighters like your Starships somewhere please.
