Uh oh... new ship has no hyperdrive
I'm on the expedition, and I just scrapped my starter hauler after buying a new explorer. After transferring everything over and salvaging the old one, I see that the new one has no hyperdrive.

I checked other ships coming into the station, and they too have no hyperdrive. I haven't checked crashed ones on the planets yet.

Usually starts that way. You have to learn/earn the hyperdrive. lol

Not this one. You start with one installed already in your ship. The one I scrapped had one, and this is something like the 5th system I've warped to.

can you just install one?
Your post header reads incorrectly. Might want to fix that.

I'm wondering if it has one, but it's hidden in the parts that sometimes don't show until you've added enough slots to make the scroll bar appear. I'm going to go out and try to warp. It's showing me as having a hyperdrive range over 700, so maybe there IS a hidden drive. Off to check...
No luck. It says "no hyperdrive installed" and there isn't any blueprint there for it.

Yeah, your starter ship has the Atlantid drive already installed.
It also needs the hyperdrive itself. I saved and transferred the Atlantid one. That part's no problem. It can't go to ANY system right now.

I'm going to try finding a crashed ship and see if those have them. Maybe it's only the ones for sale that are missing the hyperdrive.

that's just an upgrade, you still need the core module...

Can you reach a dissonant planet to try and find a crashed interceptor?
They have an alternative module to the HD, so there's a decent chance it will still have one even if the normal HDs aren't showing up.
That's a great idea! :) I'm in an ordinary system with no dissonant planets, but I'll teleport back to one of the other systems I was in. I have a bunch of echo locators that I brought with me from my main save.

Good luck. It worked in cursed expo anyway, so hopefully is solves your issue
Normally, once the Hyperdrive tech is learned / present in the game, it becomes one of the 5 systems that are present in every ship ... and which can never be removed.

I think you are going to have to get to the Anomaly and purchase the HD tech. If this is ~the 5th system you have been in, that should be possible.

Id suggest warping in the anamoly and grabbing a reward ship if you can. iron vulture is my go to. if you dont have that then yeah dissonant fighter might be your best bet
The reward ships are another good idea. I'm in the middle of getting a sentinel ship, but maybe I'll bail on that, since the reward ones would be quicker and I have enough extra nanites.
