Easiest way to get the advanced warp reactors?
Hi guys,

Is there any other way to get the advanced reactors than to meet Polo many many times? Which in turns requires just warping to as many systems as possible and pray for a space anomaly?

I'm asking particularly since it seems that unlocking new stellar system classes is the main "advanced content" available in NMS; everything else is just more slots or more powerful tools (or am I missing something?). If that's indeed the case I'd like to get them a bit fast to see what else this game has to offer!

I got the sigma upgrade by buying a ship with it installed. Not all of them have it so you'll have to try a few or get lucky. Otherwise I haven't seen any of the warp upgrades around, or the jetpack upgrades which I got very quickly in a different save pre 1.1.

Ah right, never got the jetpack upgrades either. I've never seen an AI ship with a better drive though, what slot levels are we speaking off? My ship has 24 and I've seen ships with up to 30 slots.

I have never gotten the jet pack upgrades but I have all the stamina ones and two of the shield upgrades and as far as the warp tech I just got the sigma upgrade last night after staying on a extreme planet for 5 sols. Then next warp I did I bumped into nada and polo.

Ah right, I hadn't realised it was that clear-cut. So basically: unlocking a new milestone with a Polo requirement means a space anomaly in the next jump? Whatever the order you unlock them in?

It shouldn't be the way to do this but there is a mod to get the schematics from the freighter captains at:

I choose to install it because even if you have the best one (Theta), it means you can only travel to a blue star, not a green or red star which I think is inappropriate.

I've been on survival mode for 100+ hours and have not found a single warp engine upgrade, except once when I upgraded my fighter ship to a crashed +1 ship and got the sigma. But still no blueprint. I will have to hit polo more I guess. My base missions are asking me about green planets already and cannot go there.

Well, I guess I'll try the mod. I like NMS but 100 hours is a little much ;)

I have to go to red systems for mission but I lack the warp drive I just got the sigma one I think? Will have to check next login I have over 15 warp cells to blow so I should be good lol.
