Shooting with my ship hurts me.
So I just died because shooting with my ship kills me in just a few shots, and when I respawned it still does. Is there some new piece of tech you need to stop your ship from overheating when you fire or something? Why am I getting killed so fast in my own ship?

Have you just started? Beginner ships are trash. You need to buy or find a better ship. Ships can either be salvaged on planets or bought from npcs.

No, this is a ship I got after playing the game for 26 hours. It's actually pretty good and I didn't used to have this problem before this update. I'm wondering if there is a new piece of tech I'm missing but nothing I can craft in my station, I'm basically stuck because I can't thrust to planets and I can't shoot rocks to get fuel. :/

Same! I don't think people understand: Every single time you shoot the guns on your ship it's like you are shooting yourself!

I got engaged by hostile scan and couldn't fight back, just died immediatly because of the damage.

my ship does the same♥♥♥♥♥♥ I can only use to phase beam without being damaged.

So an update: apparently in my singleplayer world I'm fine. It's when I'm in a friend's world that I'm essentially shooting myself due to bullets appearing behind me due to latency. Damn that's a really, really, REALLY bad bug to have in the game. Hopefully they fix that ASAP.

I had the same exact problem and the only fix I found was to trade my ship :(

yeah i got the bug to. i was playing with a friend and everytime i shot with my ship it would damage me. i fixed it by leaving his game and relogging to single player mode.

lol, the network latency causes your weapons fire to appear behind/inside you and hit your own ship? That's pretty hillarious. You gotta wonder why your own ship is a hitbox for your own weapons.

Dont worry. It will be fixed. They'll release hotfixes soon. They did this with 1.3 as 1.3 had bugs and they released hotfixes soon after. Just report the bug and wait for a patch.

I've seen people in these forums say they had it happen with haulers too.
MachoNatchoMan Jul 30, 2018 @ 1:21pm
yeah... got the same issue.
had it for a while. on and off, probably reconnecting that helps, not sure.

it happens with haulers, explorers and i believe fighters too, never had a shuttle so don't know about that one.. would really really like it if this is fixed soon cause it is not in itself always a gamebreaking bug, but when you are really into it and then you want to mine something or you get suddenly attacked by anything and you cannot even defend yourself and you have to log out and in again to just possibly fix it. it seriously puts a damper on anything you are doing... :,/
