THIS!
Where's the gratitude? It's free. You aren't paying for DLC. NMS is about exploring in a low key non-FPS game enviornment. Enjoy the ride. Why complain? I suspect that the 'docs' are out there.

Because we want to know if certain problems that have resulted in us being unwilling or unable to play have been sorted out.

Because the devs lied when the game came out to create hype, and 4 years later the problems are still here. If they don't offer respect to their customers, they don't deserve any respect.

Looks like it might have something to do with sending data to an API. Firewall popped up when I booted the game, which hasn't happened before (at least not for me).

Edit: Appears to be outbound traffic only, going to api.gameanalytics.com at 52.54.18.129 as well as an unnamed IP: 40.79.65.200, which appears to belong to azurewebsites.net. Firewall Alert is via Norton (I know); has very few users (less than 5 in the Norton Community) and is less than a week old (le duh). Also, according to Norton, NMS apparently doesn't have a valid digital signature. Go figure.

I was thinking about posting that very video! By God it's chaotic and swings wildly, especially indulging in minutes-long memes, but stick with it! It tells the tale! But feel free to tune out in the last 12-13 minutes or so; or, don't, and be disturbed.

Also, there's a good hint, if not absolute answers yet, in the pinned Experimental thread which details some of the fixes and changes going on which do often migrate to the release channel.

I'm on experimental already. So that shouldn't be the case.

Yes, please watch the Engoodening. It makes sense of a lot of the hype and "lies" that most people complain about and explains what happened after the launch.

Hello Games has since fixed most of the issues with NMS, and continue to work on it. Hello Games has been pumping out new (FREE!) content, upgrades, changes, and bug patches rather frequently since the game's official release. I wasn't impressed with the launch issues, I don't think anyone really was, but I am impressed that Hello Games kept working at it until they had a working, and improved, product.

If nothing else Hello Games showed dedication to their product and customers, fixing what was originally nothing short of what most would consider a disaster at launch. More companies should follow suit and make the kind of effort put forth by Hello Games when they launch too soon, or with a buggy, glitchy, or unfinished product.

People need to let go of the launch hate for Hello Games and NMS, and watching this video will absolutely explain a lot. I'm glad I watched it.

Oh god.. you're so uninformed. & why are you here in this thread *4 years later,* like you said? If you hate the devs that much & don't care for what they tried to offer, why do you even play this game? I don't ever respond to stupid online, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dude have a slice of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cake. Nevermind, just eat the whole cake.

According to SteamDB, something was pushed to the public branch about an hour ago (as of this reply): https://steamdb.info/app/275850/depots/

[Edit: There are not (yet?) any release notes: https://www.nomanssky.com/release-log/ ]

Lol i love how people crying about devs lying, being bad and doing random updates, but the same people still follow every news of this game and forums. I don't know guys, but if you hate game/devs you just can stop playing and observing it :squirtyay:
