Odd message in the Agave Fields (spoilers?)

Before going into the Sierra, I decided to collect the Orb in Juan's House, however in the World of the Death version of the Agave Fields I saw a little message with scrambled letters that REALLY stands out. I got close to it and a button prompt appeared, and and translation showed up saying: Now the real Guacamelee begins!

Can somebody explain? was this in the vanilla version of the game?

I've just tried and it only appears in hard mode. Lol.
