How to troubleshoot and report issues

Ensure game files are intact using Verify Game Cache

1. From your Steam Library list, right-click on Influent and select Properties.
   
2. Click the LOCAL FILES tab.
   
3. Click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..." and allow the validation process to run its course.

Reporting crashes
If you still experience poor framerate, crashes or other issues, please help the dev team by providing detailed information below.

Please post the following:
A) Your System Specs

1. CPU name & model
   
2. Name / model of the desktop or laptop (if available)
   
3. Graphics card / chip model and the amount of VRAM
   
4. Video driver version number
   
5. System memory size
   
6. OS version (Windows 7, 8, 64-bit/32-bit, etc.)
   
7. Anti-virus software name and version

B) Specific issue
Please share your specific issue and the location(s) where you’re experiencing the issues – for example, if you’re having problems with the framerate, is it happening constantly, or is it during certain events or during gameplay, etc.
If the game is crashing, it would be useful if you can share an error log, please post it or email it to support [at] playinfluent [dot] com

C) Detailed reproduction steps, if consistently reproducible
This step particularly is very useful for the development team. The more detailed info you can provide, the quicker the team can reproduce the error state and (hopefully) fix the issue.

White Screen

Every time I boot up the game on my Mac it shows the loading screen with the grinning moon (?) and then goes to white, but the music still plays. I bought the Korean language only.

the word "shirt" in mandarin is wrong both with pinyin and sign

my chinese friend saw that the word shirt is wrong in mandarin. Both sign and pin yin. Fix it =)

Some minor errors I've found.

I purchased the Swedish language version of Influent to check it out and see if I could recommend it to my friends, as they are keen to learn my native language. I've noticed that this game have some issues with what we Swedes refer to as "särskriving", which is when you put a space between two words that should form to mean something else entirely.

A few examples (not from the game), just to solidify what särskrivning is;
-Kassamedarbetare = Cashier coworkers, -Kassa Medarbetare = Lousy Coworkers.
-Giftorm = Venomous snake, -Gift Orm = Married Snake.

And so on and so forth. Most of these särskrivningsord don't always change meaning quite this dramatically (sometimes they don't at all), but it completely breaks the flow of reading and people will become confused later if they aren't taught the difference.

The most obvious of these särskrivningar that I've found in Influent so far is the cell phone, which is written as "mobil telefon" when it should be simply "mobiltelefon". In this particular word it doesn't really make that much of a difference, other than being grammatically wrong, as the meaning doesn't change too much (mobil can mean movable/transportable, as well as being one of these http://www.ikea.com/us/en/images/products/leka-mobile__0104964_PE252138_S4.JPG ).

I'm just saying you guys need to keep these things in mind.

Other than that, I've thoroughly enjoyed the short time I've spent with Influent so far and I will definitely recommend it to my friends.

It would be nice if there was a way to skip the intro if you're starting a second save file. If there is a way already, I couldn't figure it out. (I know this isn't an error, just a suggestion, but it felt pointless to start a new thread just for that.)

I also got Japanese and a few more with DLC but I'm not having any problems. Where exactly does the game keep you from accessing the DLC?

Is there a function to report bugs from in game? Would make this easier.

Also it only ever speaks "Lampa" when it shows Belysning, which is frustrating as it marks the lamp as incorrect.

Performance Issues

I've played with the resolution and anti-aliasing, but I'm getting embarassing performance in this game. When I get near the fruit bowl in the kitchen the game sutters to a near stop. Also, when I get a star on a word, the game stutters and stops breifly.

I have a pretty serious gaming rig:

Core i7 950 Quad-Core
12GB triple channel DDR3
Radeon HD5790 1GB DDR5

I know it's not bleeding edge anymore, but if I can run TitanFall on high settings and 1920x1200 resolution, I think I should be able to max this game out. :-)


Anyone else having similar issues?

Yep, framerate issues for me on a GTX 470 at 1680x1050 (although only with a crappy Core 2 Duo E8500 as my CPU).

So do I, especially after playing about an hour, it gets nearly unplayable, I have to close it and restart it then. I have a GTX 780ti, a i7-3930k and 16gb ram.
