Here are the steps to determining which application isn't letting FaceRig use your webcam http://lifehacker.com/find-out-what-windows-program-is-using-your-webcam-on-w-1582372561
Alright, thanks. I'll take a look into it.
It shows my facerig virual cam charatcter, but when I try to make a call and leave a Video message it gives me a error. Is this normal? I would like to be able to leave video messages using facerig when I leave my sons video messages.
That said, good to make the devs aware of it, so they can pass it on to the creators of the virtual webcam, they might be able to do something about it.
One question though: what is the exact version number of skype you are using? (open skype, help, about skype)
should be the latest 7.8.85.102
i need help
Have you tried ALL of the solutions offered here in this thread? (making sure you install the driver for your particular operating system and don't forget to enable broadcasting)
If yes, please make a separate thread detailing your problem and providing the vp.log and dxdiag as described in the pinned post "when reporting bugs and crashes"
And some of us look & the settings still do not work. I have had this program a while now & still have yet to get it to work properly. I have a good system build with good graphics & still has not fixed this. Its funny the cam works in everything but this app.
If an app is having issues accessing the feed from a camera or a virtual camera, it means that (most likely) another application is holding it "hostage". To find out which application is keeping your webcam or virtual camera busy, use this guide http://lifehacker.com/find-out-what-windows-program-is-using-your-webcam-on-w-1582372561
Additionally/alternatively, if the issues you are having are with the FaceRig virtual camera, please make sure that you have the appropriate driver installed (from the location the original post names)
If all else fail, we advise you to make a separate post (new thread/discussion) detailing your problem and submitting the log files needed to troubleshoot the issue.
