Level Editor Beta [Update History & Release Notes]
June 10th, 2016 - Patch #4, Hotfix 2
All three platforms have been updated with another hotfix. This means the June 10th fixes are now also available on Mac and Linux. In addition to these fixes one more issue has been addressed where playing a level from within the editor would sometimes give a 'LEVEL CLEARED' prompt on the first floor while more floors are present in the level.

December 23rd, 2015 - Patch #1
  • Fixed not being able to place different furniture variations.
  • Fixed various glitches pertaining to ammo count in the guns.
  • Fixed ability to create cutscenes on added floors.
  • Added missing cutscene graphics (Writer's face, Biker faces and the fans unmasked body sprites).
  • Categorized the Dialogue 'faces' menu
  • Fixed an issue where multi-floor levels would sometimes display 'LEVEL CLEARED' after finishing just the first floor.
  • Fixed an issue where a 'fisheye' effect would become visible on some levels.
  • Fixed an issue where playing campaigns from levels other than the first would cause problems.
  • Jacket: Fixed mask consistency when traveling between floors.
  • Jacket: Fixed various bugs with the silenced uzi.
  • Jacket: Fixed various bugs with 'Rip & Steal'.
  • 'Miami' and 'Florida' now default to their actually correct denominations.
  • Improved behaviour on lower resolutions and different display modes.
  • Other minor bug fixes.

Please note: We did change some things to the format levels are stored in but have attempted to make sure your old levels still work as they did before. We obviously weren't able to test every single level out there so there may be some issues importing your levels created with versions prior to today's update.

March 10th, 2016 - Patch #2
  • Defaulted the game back to Direct3D (should fix most performance problems and visual glitches that occured with the last update
  • Fixed some characters not spawning with their correct animations/weapons (Mark, ...)
  • Fixed some elevator related issues.

Please note: The elevators may still be broken for some characters (Fans particularly), sit tight for an update, probably somewhere next week, that addresses this.

Additionally, we noticed that some of your sprite mods got broken with the last update, this is due to the fact that we've had to change around some sprites / atlases. It's unfortunate but we've always known some of this stuff may not be compatible up until the final build. We'll try to minimize these occurrences but can't promise a future update won't break them again. Today's update shouldn't change the sprite sheets.

May 3rd, 2016 - Patch #3
  • Various bugfixes and improvements
  • Mac & Linux support
  • Workshop support

UPDATE:
We've set the Workshop public to owners of the game, so there's no need to join the beta group anymore.

IMPORTANT:
We've found an issue in the proper, public release of Hotline Miami 2 that causes the title to crash on start-up when you have active workshop submissions. We've managed to address the issue there for the Windows version of the game but Mac and Linux have not been updated as of yet. Please be aware if you're on either of those platforms and you use the Workshop functionality, you may not be able to opt out of the beta and play the game on the default version anymore for the time being. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
