Is this game abandoned?
Like... absolutely and utterly abandoned? I know many of players were disappointed and to be honest they anger is fully understandable, but I enjoyed of playing as I wasn't enjoy for a long time (maybe it's all because I'm not a backer haha). Game design, concept and so partially reminds me of Star Trek TNG and NPC houses in Might and Magic VIII: Day of Destroyer. I mean something in between or mixing modern and futurism interior styles, idk, maybe 80-90s sci-fi or fantasy or science fantasy atmosphere. And this is unique in some point, even beautiful I'd say. It's a shame that the game has no longer devs support, maybe after few significant changes the gamers wouldn't be so mad. The game isn't so bad after all.

No artistic work is ever truly finished, and I haven't met a developer who wouldn't like to keep working on their games for as long as possible. But, the realities of schedules and project management meant it was necessary for the Torment team to move on. We're now working on both The Bard's Tale IV and Wasteland 3, and we hope to keep making awesome games beyond that. :happymeat:

Dude, the game has incorporated many of the user-made patches, and the text was reedited and cleaned up, and Beamdog, the porter, HAS updated the game since release. You are mistaken about the excellent rerelease of the best CRPG ever written.

What? I don't uderstand you. You mean Planescape: Torment? As far as I know TToN hasn't "many of the user-made patches" and Beamdog has nothing in common with this specific game (TToN). Plus, Numenera is good, but surely not "the best CRPG ever written".

Wrong Torment, buddy. Again. Seriously, pay heed to where you comment. :D

It's enjoyable, also seems to be abandoned after the latest content addition.

Yep, it seems this way. I hoped devs were planning to release at least one more which is dedicate to crisis system. Sad they didn't and probably won't do it.

The Bard's Tale IV and Wasteland 3 are no doubt solid projects but it still sad that TToN is no longer supported (for now at least). While playing Numenera I've become some sort of a setting, concept and lore fan. Anyway, many thanks for reply!
Well, we're disappointed, but we at least got to play about 65% of what would have been a Top Ten CRPG, and we all had a lot of fun as long as it lasted:steamhappy:.

Still....:steamsad:

How do you feel about bringing a patch that would solve some of the bugs at least (hopefully all of them?
Tybir addressing Oom despite Oom not being even met or at least present.

There is no option to bond with Erritis' Reflection to get his reflection ability. (In every possible solution of his quest)

The quest Preservation of Beauty can be solved twice with double the rewards (and I doubt it's intended) as long as you send the woman from Sundermun their way and meet its quota of 3 people. The quest finishes, you then kill Sundemun, the quest becomes open again with an addendum. Decanted reappers (both with Bourras, if he was one of the three)) and you can get another 4th person to Decanted for another finish.

Sometimes during crises Successive Attack ability triggers but fails to do anything - you choose the effort and the character spends it and does nothing. No idea why.

Rhin got a second Dull Shin on Tier3->Tier4 level up unequipping the first one which dropped into her inventory.

Game-breaking bug: If you go to Old Slave's Block in Bloom and find Artaglio's standard before getting a pass from the mercenaries in Chiurgeon Slump they will never let you in. The mercenary supposed to let you in just barks "wow, you got the standard" instead of a dialogue. Yea, thanks, reload.

Pretty sure there's more. These are just what I can remember encountering from the top of my head.

Did they ever fix the blurry text? I haven't been able to play more than 10 minutes at a time because of that, and I'm an original backer. I've been waiting for a fix for that for ages, I just assumed it would come in a patch and I would play it when that happened.

So this is still a buggy mess? GREAT!

Never occured to me there was a blurry text anywhere. Played the whole game twice. You sure it's not something unique to your version/PC/something?

It is not, I played through this just during the last couple weeks for the first time despite having it since release. I had a blast, really. Too bad the battles were so scarce, I actually enjoyed them once I got to know them. I had the most fun when I was in silver/red/blue Tides.
Buggy mess? Not at all. Occasional bugs? Yes. As mentioned above, one game-breaking which is shameful.

Oh it's absolutely a widespread issue. They are many threads expressing that all over this forum, let alone all over the internet. I was never able to find a definitive fix, other than the devs saying that it was made with 4k in mind, so in 1080p things were downscaled and it didn't work perfectly. So no, it's not just my pc, even if it was, it would be incredibly odd that it would literally have been the only game in my hundreds of game library that had that issue. So help over ccondescension please.

If the tone of the message came out as that I apologize, wasn't the intention. Don't shoot the messenger. :D

I'm playing in 1080p myself, still haven't seen any blurry text though. :/

It's not incredibly blurry, just blurry enough to be annoying. Plenty of people weren't bothered by it, but still acknowledged its existence.
