[10 STEP FIX] GTA V Launcher Has Stopped Working
I guess there's a problem with Nvidia's main GPU compatibility with the Social Club launcher. But I have figured out a way to bypass this problem until the fine workers at Rockstar release a patch. If you're trying to launch GTA V, you've come to the right place.

Now, here's what you do:

Step 1: Open Device Manager. (I recommend typing it into the Windows search bar)
Step 2: Click on Display Adapters.
Step 3: Right click on your main graphics. (ex. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M)
Step 4: Click Disable.
Step 5: Launch Grand Theft Auto V.
Step 6: Right click on your main graphics again.
Step 7: Wait for Social Club to finish loading.
Step 8: Immediately click Enable before GTA V can launch.
Step 9: Enjoy, my fellow criminals! ;D

Step 10: Please don't show hate towards Rockstar, they're clearly working really hard on this for us to enjoy together. Thanks!

This fix has been posted a lot and while it works for some it doesn't work for everyone. Thanks anyway.

TRY THIS:

"GTA V" Launcher Crash -FIX- !
So I thought this Launcher Crash was happening for everybody then I noticed half of my friends can play the game without the Launcher Crash so I came here read what people say and think and I saw that many people have this Launcher Crash problem. I saw some stupid tutorials that doesn't work, and people disabling their graphics card and stupid stuff like that so I messed around by myself and came up to a FIX that works for me and ONLY for - Launcher Crash - problem!
How I fixed my problem when I start the game (launcher) and it crashes within the launcher, I will list things what I did to fix my problem and I hope you people who have the Launcher Crash problem could fix it this way!
- First of all Verify the files (GTA V) if you have it on Steam.
- Go to your directory where you installed the game.
- Right click on the "GTAVLauncher" application file in your directory where you installed GTA V, go to "Properties", then go to "Compatibility", tick the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for: (I chose "Windows 7" because I have Windows 7).
- Then below this you will have to tick the box "Run this program as an administrator".
- After all of this: Apply and then click Ok.
- Restart Steam if you have GTA V on Steam.
- Launch GTA V through Steam after you restarted and done everything I said above.
- If you have the 'LAUNCHER CRASH PROBLEM' this should FIX your problem!

I will say it AGAIN for the not so understandable people in the discussion part: This FIX is not for infinite LOADING, and other types of bugs, problems! This fix is only for the people who had problems like me when you launch the game it goes into the Launcher part and Crashes!
By the way that nonsense Windows account username thing is not that specific because everybody has problems with something else, and my username characters are all listed in the 'allowed' section, so that's not 100% everybodies problem like it's stated on the GTA V Store Page on Steam. Enjoy the game and cheers! :D

The only thing that has worked for me was completely reinstalling Windows, it sucks but i've been happily playing for a week now

I just went into the game properties and did the "verify integrity of game cache" option and my game was able to update the next time I launched. Definitely try this before doing anything drastic

As if we hadn't already thought of that, it's the first thing anyone should try.

you just probably had to uninstall your anti-virus.
