Character Name
It looks like you can transfer characters from multiple platforms. However I made a character on a friends Xbox360 account about a year ago, Will I beable to name my PC character the same?

I was thinking the same. I was going to start afresh on PC and not port my character over from Xbox and wondering if I'll be able to use the same character name?

Character names are not unique, your social club account name is and that's what everyone will see you as.

Oh boy... now i have to dig up my old Rockstar social club from Gta4.

Character name is going to be irrelevant anyway, since it never shows up in game, ever. Just register the game to your social club account and that's probably what it will use.

1.) You seem like you have a genuine learning disability;
2.) Your name in GTA Online is your Rockstar Social Club account name.

And here I thought the Internet was for living out your inner self.

For the record, I was kidding.

Well if you can change your name in TF2 and CS:GO and any game on Steam because, well the game is on Steam's platform and it's technically theirs, I don't see why it wouldn't apply to GTA V.

You can change your name through the Rockstar Social Club but AFAIK you can only do it like once a year.

I've been wondering the same thing as it hasn't really been confirmed, though we can assume it will be our R*SC name.. It also could be the name you're able to give the actual character after creation.
I always found it odd they let us name our characters but never once did it mean anything in the Online mode. They just as easily could have excluded that feature but for some reason it's there. My thoughts have been that possibly they'll use it for the PC version.

I'm really interested in seeing how the whole SC stuff works for pc.

You press home to open the social club and from there you can invite friends, look at your stats, etc, just as you would with the Steam overlay.

The character names probably just exist to easily distinguish between multiplayer characters on the same account at a glance.
