New windows update KB3140743 breaks my GTA5

Since the windows update KB3140743 my game activate hangs and then i get stuck on a loading screen for i dont even know how long its that long. If it does load after waiting ill get Micheal with nothing else on screen then all the background will load in slowly and my fps will drop and it stutters that bad its unplayable. the only fix is to uninstall the windows update KB3140743. Has anyone else had this problem?

Even if u do or the windows does :/ u can uninstall it. The problem is, it will keep installing it and breaking the game. hope it helps you anyway pal ;)

KB3140743 nearly killed GTA V for me, too. Frame rate goes to Satan's realm, and the CPU usage skyrockets like I've never seen before. Uninstalling KB3140743 fixes the problem flawlessly... although leaves the issue of Windows being desirous to reinstall it.

Hell, the previous Windows update caused my system to fatally "bsod" (I use quotations because it wasn't a genuine bsod), and then play dead before acting like nothing happened.

I noticed my CPU usage skyrocket with this update. The game still runs fine since I'm running an i7, but those CPU temps may suffer because of this.

can agree with that, didn't run with afterburner os something.. but my poor AMD CPU's fan were louder then the game, even when just starting it up, and being in apartment.

Just uninstall it and then never turn your computer off (use sleep instead).

You can change your network connection to 'metered' and it will not automatically download updates..... apparently, not tried it yet myself.

Here's a good fix: uninstall KB3140743 in safe mode (you have to run the advanced troubleshooter in recovery settings to change boot settings), reboot, download the program found in the link below, follow instructions to hide the offending update. Now it should not download or install.

Nice one, That seems to have worked for me. After the steps and hiding the update i rebooted to see if windows would auto install and it didn't Happydays

I was wondering why this happened to me a few days ago. I can't play the game anymore. and this is exactly the same what happens and I searched everywhere!

i have this prob as well did a clean install of windows works fine then soon as i updated the other night it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the game and its unplayerble

Uninstall that win update is the fix. It seems as though its breaking a lot of different stuff for different people and they are all uninstalling it.

okay this problem occured to me on monday(keyboard not responding while playing with Xbox One controller) I saw it was that Windows update so I uninstalled it and it fixed the problem. The thing is few days later while I was playing, Windows installed that damn update again and screwd my game while I was playing ... Is microsoft aware of this? This should be an easy thing to fix for them isn't it?
