Hacker changed my social club email and the recovery code sent in my email is expired.
Someone got hacked into my Rockstar account and changed the email. I got a response email from Rockstar with a recovery code. I didn't notice it and now when I try to recover it, it says the recovery code is expired.

I've contacted Rockstar Support regarding this issue and waiting for their response. Is there anything else can I do? How can I prove that the Steam account which is linked to my social club account is mine?

Update: I got my account back.

The method Steam community told me to follow didn't work. I've waited almost a week creating multiple tickets following that method but no response. The way for opening ticket that worked for me for this exact issue is mentioned below. I got a reply from Rockstar within 6 hours after opening the ticket in this way. From opening the ticket and getting my account back it took about 12 hours. The support was good.

Follow this if you have the exact same issue as mine (recovery code expired):
  1. First create and log into a new Social Club account to contact Rockstar Support. If your hacker already created a new Social Club account on your original email, you can log into that as well.
  2. Got to Account Support > Social Club Account > Account Linking [Rockstar Games Customer Support][support.rockstargames.com]
  3. Write the message politely mentioning your problem in email format. Keep it concise and don't include anything unnecessary. Else, it might get discarded as spam.

The reply I got back from Rockstar was:

Hello <username>,

Thank you for contacting Rockstar Support.

We can help with this, but we need a few additional pieces of information first. Please provide us with the following information:
  1. Screenshot of the game purchase receipt received in your email account showing the date and amount of purchase.
  2. Screenshot showing you logged into Steam, with your Steam Profile name and Steam ID64.
  3. The Steam ID64 typed into the text body of the request.
Sign in to SteamClick on your Steam Profile name at the top right corner of the window and select “Account Details.Take a screenshot showing your Steam Profile and Steam ID64 clearly visible on the screenCopy and paste the Steam ID64 in your reply
  1. If you received an error message when redeeming the code, please include the exact error message.
The below information request is applicable if you own Grand Theft Auto V.
  1. Screenshot of the Steam CD Key window clearly displaying the code.
  2. The activation serial key typed into the text body of the request.
Right-click on the game in your Steam Library, select "Manage" and select "CD keys"Take a screenshot showing your Steam Profile and CD Key clearly visible on the screenCopy and paste the CD Key in your reply
As soon as we receive this information, we will investigate and reply regarding the issue as soon as we can.
Best regards,
<name>

They are going to want to see the email receipt from steam showing your game purchase. If you don't got that - make it very clear. They may ask other questions or more proof to further help identify/prove ownership - steamid, screenshots, day account was linked, shark card purchases, etc.

/goodluck - it can be easy, or annoying. possibly many attempts or repeat questions.

How much I may need to wait to get a response?
It 'says' under 24 hours at time of this post. However, across the top - the banner is back -
"We are experiencing unusually high contact volume at this time and are working to respond to requests in the order they were received. Thank you for your patience."

Mind you, there's been people that waited 5 days under that same time frame. Now that holidays are over, and sales 'almost' over - I suspect it won't be terribly long. Just wait it out.

edit -
I'm pretty sure I would have used the compromised account link.

This is my usual copypasta -

tl;dr/lazy - use this link below to contact R* without logging in to RECOVER your account/fix/change email to one you have access to. Yep, many hoops to jump to prove you are the owner, have the steam account, cdkey etc, and days to wait/repeat yourself -

Still not getting any response from them. Should I attach the Steam purchase recipe as a reply on the support ticket?

Also, I've opened the ticket following these steps:
Purchase/Activation - Not Listed Here - PC - Contact Us[support.rockstargames.com]
Are these the correct steps to open a ticket for this issue?

Yes they talk to you, and yes they will help you. The issue these days is that people write complete nonsense and insults and don't know how to talk to support and won't provide the necessary information they ask.

I have seen some absurd support tickets in the past and present and it is absolutely absurd how people ask for help or explain the stuff that is wrong and then also can't provide the necessary information asked since they don't understand nothing.

If Rockstar sent a verification code/link to my email address before the email change then we didn't have this issue. The hacker didn't need any confirmation. Rockster just sent a reminder/recovery link which was in Chinese because of the hacker so I can't understand. Also, many people don't check emails regularly. Completely a messed up system.

Thankfully not, people have shared what they have posted.
Update: I got my account back.
Grats, however nothing wrong with the info given.

Compromised account link is the 'exact' link you should be using (but going to another - whatever, used to use 'product activation' until they removed the no account option to use it). This allows you to contact R* -without- the creation of a new account. The link you gave- requires someone to be logged on. This is not always a possibility, or even warranted as it throws yet another account into the mix, possibly even causes more problems getting other emails involved. Yes, old info told people to make an account to access the 'live chat' to do this in 5-10 minutes- when they were fixing this via that (and when livechat was available but I digress).

You were literally posting about this when they were being hammered, at end of holidays, and had a banner up about extended wait times and how they'll get to the tickets in order of they were received. There were lots, LOTS, sent over the holidays. Even the link you are giving - is currently <72 hours --- that's a 3 day window, Not a guarantee.

The screenshot of steam purchase history is known in case there is no steam email - however- there's been many over the last few months saying R* support 'wouldn't take' those screenshots ---- so that is a YMMV situation.

Entire thing is YMMV. Some have reported trying north of 5-7-10 times before success. Others, at the same time, were successful in a couple hours and many inbetween.
Fun stuff.

Again, grats on getting it back.

edit/below - 'i don't recall' isn't really an answer.
'zero purchase'. I have made no purchases. None.

Every time I get to the point of the ticket where they ask if I've made any online purchases for the online versions of GTA5, RDR2, etc and then I state that I don't recall EVER making online purchases their next reply is that they don't believe they are speaking with the owner of the account and close the ticket. This is after I've already sent screenshots of steam account info, steam receipts, cd keys, etc... I'm assuming if I was hacked and the hacker made online purchases there's no way for me to know. This is very frustrating. I played RDR2 for a total of 6 hrs after purchasing a few years ago, and now that I wan't to play it again, I can't. Can't play GTA5 either.
