Wrongfully banned from GTA V.
So I woke up the other day to find that I had been permanentely banned from GTA Online. Now I know I didn't do anything wrong, as after I received my 1 month ban, I was very careful to avoid ANYTHING suspicious, if i found a modder on a lobby i was in, i would find a new session immedietely, and I would never cheat myself. So what the hell Rockstar? I just dont know what to do here. Any ideas people?

Just so you know vac has a similar approach You can't appeal them, it's handed out automatically and no support ticket or crying wont help lift the ban of your account ( unless) it's a false/positive detection then it will automatically resolve itself in a few days, just like R* bans takes 3 business days to get reverted if it was a false one.
And also vac won't disclose why you are/where banned just like R* does to prevent people reporting back to cheat sites and thus helping the coders to make it "undetectable"

Where do you idiots get the idea that a false-positive ban from an automated system will "automatically resolve itself", you're supposed to be able to report these things and work with a support team to make sure it doesn't happen again in the future, which we can't because Rockstar refuses to cooperate with its community.

Yeah I was confused about that to, from what I've learned they dont revoke bans automatically, thats just not something that happens..

Its amazing how some of you think to look at one tiny spot would explain a whole picture.

If there werent random people who would inform people about exploits in the thing they work with on a daily basis,
and if these, who work on their thing daily like microsoft, wouldnt listen to random people,
other random people from the internet would use your banking details, watch you, steal your identity all the time. But all was fine because microsoft ignores what people say?

So the stand that rockstar doesnt have to listen to random peoples notification, you still sure about it?
Do you think they would not listen to random people that say, there is an exploit that could affect YOU?
I am sure suddenly they would reply. And would be not amused if THEY get a copy paste reply,
"You must have messed up your code. So the exploit stays active. We wont tell you what causes this exploit. Enjoy your day!" - TIcket closed

At least that would be funny like hell.

I do it by looking at the proof.
Innocent untill proven guilty, not, guilty untill proven innocent.
Punishing while saying the punishment is justified, doesn't prove it is.

I use reason.
How do I assume you filter lies from truth?

the system has checks in place to ensure that bans aren't handed out without reason.
thats the only reason i believe rockstar over people who regularly lie here in the forums.

You pretty much answered that yourself with this reply.

You just assume all these people are lying, and assume that there are checks in place because Rockstar says so.

Meanwhile you've agreed that the system is in fact not perfect.
Yet you assume it self-corrects.

Here's the thing tho...
How can a system self-correct if it doesn't even allow contest?
The answer is, it can't.
Which means false positives could never be ruled out without reasonable doubt, and the same mistakes will just keep happening.

cool story bro, but its just a story. There are many things you could have done to deserve a ban listed at this link https://www.rockstargames.com/conduct
as with anyone who gets banned they all never did anything wrong. Its just like the boy who cried wolf and the few that spoil the whole.

enjoy your ban

Which brings me back to the following question...

Bit of a douchy move, no?

What you're doing is judging based on assumption, not proof.
I'm just pointing that out, using your own words.

Public scrutiny, not just the OP opened up to it... :B1:

Still makes sense to some of you?

"Thank you for contacting (your bank) support.
My name is ashley, i work at the support desk and reply to you for the people who work daily at (your bank). They wont ever see your message.
Our tos and our people are not perfect. But if mistakes happen we correct them automatically.

If you miss your money, and it isnt returned automatically after 3 business days,
it can be caused by the following reasons:
You wasted your money on stupid things and won stupid prizes.

We wont appeal any loss of money that isnt self corrected."

First, this isn't an exploit. Second, r* should only listen to their tech guys on the cheat detection system as they are far more trustworthy than some random guy telling them their stuff is broken. In the case of a large majority of people complaining, then yes they should listen, but :pselphine:THEY ALREADY DO, because they unban people they find innocent. Hell, they reversed the decision to completely ban single player mods, so of course they listen.:uritona:

Kek, pretty sure they didnt reverse the May ban wave.

Steam mods locked my topic without any reason given.

2018: join online session
1.locked in a cage inside apartment
doing ceo
2.get blown up,
doing races,
3.sonic shows up with his blazing boost.
somewhere on map,
4.modder comes to you, starts spawning water torrents beneath you, can't open up menu to change session because of the constant torrents spam shutting down the main menu, inform users in chat, modder gets his feelings hurt because. so he starts killing everyone on session with your name for the kill, players in session loses their mind, end upp reporting you, cant leave session, have to alt+f4 to exit game.
5.losing all your weapons during heists or just online just because.

* yeah bois, rockstar busy banning modders.
ahahaha

I''ve written multiple tickets to rockstar, they lock them with a spam bot message repeating the same ♥♥♥♥.

I have several videos on youtube of modders, and there was an option to "report players", it was "gtaonlinebanhammer@rockstargames.com"
So I ended up with this lovely:

Hi ##%%, Thank you for contacting Rockstar Support. We appreciate you taking the time to report a player cheating in one of our games, but you have reached us at an email address that is no longer active. Please see below for instructions on how to report cheaters in various Rockstar titles: GTA Online 1) Pause the game and navigate to the “ONLINE” tab. 2) Select “Players”, and choose the name of the player cheating. 3) Select “Report”, and confirm your report with the “Cheater” category. Max Payne 3 1) Navigate to rsg.ms/support blablabla Red Dead Redemption & Grand Theft Auto IV – We are not currently accepting cheater reports for these titles. Please note that this automated message is sent from a no-reply email address. Best regards, Rockstar Support

I then proceeded to forums (rockstars community forum), I was asking when this was going to be fixed.
(I had linked a video showing some modders from several months ago and until now are still modding and roaming the sessions freely) what did the pesky goblins of rockstar moderators do you ask? they removed the url without a hint.

Doesn't acknowledge neither does anyone on this forum that modders are a problem, it's a win win argument, no matter how far you go, they'll perescute you, and will do nothing to stop modding, Why wont they just disable modding if it's "illegal" to mod online, oh thats right..

remember the majority of steam users lost their minds and changed their review from positive to negative, the game review was "extremely negative" for gta 5, they even contacted publishers! hey! this is absurd! how can rockstar do dis to us... few months later they brought back modding, what happens? Review are back to mostly positives, which says alot about the community.

Don't mention "RP" or "DSCP watever that ♥♥♥♥ mod is called" there's no profit or gain in it for rockstar, theres no shark cards there, and the servers are community based servers, so thats no excuse.

Great, now I'm gonna be even more paranoid. These stats look perfectly normal. Granted, none of us here can see whether or not you used any other characters that might have broken the ToS, we don't know whether you ran anything in the background or had any modded files and so on and so forth. But assuming this is your only character and you were genuinely trying to stay out of trouble that time around, seeing a permanent ban happening seemingly at random and with zero chance to even talk about it does seem a bit cruel.

I mean, I get why they don't tell people why exactly they got banned. They don't want anyone to know what actually triggers a ban, fair enough. But this whole "we're not gonna listen, we're not discussing the topic, you can't talk to us about it" stance is a bit harsh.

Maybe your first character broke the rules more than once and they ended up banning you twice for that? Did you collect the 30 million of modded cash all at once or over the course of several days? Perhaps you bought some some cars with the modded cash, then sold one of them again. Basically, multiple separate things which would cause their cheat detection to raise a flag. Not sure it's fair to ban the same user twice for stuff he's done on one character who already got reset, anyway, but that's a different topic entirely. I'm just guessing, of course. Which is all anyone can do, since they never say what these bans are for.

Not sure how to feel about such stuff. Again, we can't possibly know whether there's anything you're not telling us, I'm not here to pick sides and I also don't have this mental image of "an evil corporation banning innocent people" that somebody mentioned above. But I can empathize. I have a character on there I'm rather attached to, a permanent heist crew, lots of fun memories all over Los Santos. The thought that juuuuust maybe, possibly, perhaps at some point they might push a button, delete all of that stuff for seemingly no reason and then go "LALALAAA WE CAN'T HEAR YOU" when you want to know what happened isn't super pleasant.

It also can't be great when nobody really cares to listen, because heyho, you're a cheater, you're scum, you deserve everything you get, enjoy your ban and all that. I mean, I can absolutely understand the reactions. I avoid public sessions like the plague, precisely because they're constantly getting ruined by cheaters AND there's the threat of people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with your money and stats, trying to get you banned. ♥♥♥♥ like that takes the fun out of most of the online activities on there. It's no surprise people react the way they do. Still. It's gotta suck. Rockstar doesn't communicate this stuff and the community sure as fk doesn't care. Probably not a fun situation to be in.

Argh. Long post is long. Sorry.

Same thing happened to a lot of people with legit high levels. I was @ 976, 5529 hours online and never cheated. Perma ban. 1 month after I bought $400 in shark cards. I don't go to public anymore. I heard @ 300 reports it's autoban. Stupid noobs report high levels without checking thier game stats. I deleted that sc account.
Noodle Jun 15, 2018 @ 7:19am
I have had one ban in my time in this game. I used cheats and got banned a month after (I was about 3 weeks clean). Their anti cheat works but it is slow. Since then, I have been playing legit but I have had money dropped on me and I have been in contact with cheaters, even had help to sell cargo with one (They done it without me asking but why would I turn that down? ;) ). I haven't been banned again. You only get a ban if it's you who downloaded and chose to use the cheats.

(It's not worth it :p )

Well you say that but I have never installed cheats myself (and never would for any online game) and yet I've been banned twice. RIP me I guess,

Every single day I see posts exactly like this of people claiming they haven't used cheats but from personal experience, I have trust in the anti cheat, I don't belive it bans people wrongfully. YES I know there's been times when it has but thats when they F* up an update, they haven't had an update in a while so you can't fool people.

You beleive what you want to beleive, but I dont actually see a point to cheating in this game.. the game has built in auto aim for christ sake, and I enjoy grinding heists, well did enjoy, so why would I cheat in money?
