Art of not working

I have just bought this game (bundled as a "trilogy")
I only get one simple error message from windows 10: Stopped working.
Well... It never started working. Why on Gods green Earth do Steam push this stuff on customers at all? I don't really care about the petty cash that the tricked me into paying, but it bugs the crap out of me that I actually waited for the download. NOT worth the 5 minutes...
If anyone can help resolve this, I'd be one happy camper...

This game was awesome when I played it 7 years ago. And it still works without problems on WinXP like back then.

It's like playing against a cheater with wallhack and aimbot, save your money and put it towards a better game.

I can confirm that this game do not work on Windows 10 and will give error every time you try to start it.

I downloaded the game but as I got to the section at the fort, after getting entry and opening the gates, a wagon pulls through into the court yard and I get update mission, the game completely shuts down??? I have tried several times but the same thing happens, I even restarted that section outside the fort and whent back through it again but same thing happens once wagon arrives in court yard??? any solutions or is it just a realy bad buy???

I bought it as a 'bundle' as well, it will not play...error stopped it working....tried uninstalling and reinstalling ..no joy...am now uninstalling it permanently a it seems the people at Steam are not capable of fixing the problem.

Same issue not working on Windows 10.
I simply do not uderstand why Steam do not warn us that this game is working only on older versions of Windows.

Same problem, and on Win 7, so it's not just Win 10.
Good thing I bought the bundle for the other games.

Windows 7 64 bit with the latest drivers for Nvidia and no problems running it. For Windows 10 try different compatibility modes. I assume they have those.

I don't understand why Steam don't warn us that these games works only with olders versions of Windows !!!

I got it to work on my win10pro 64bit system.

From the game install directory in SteamApps

I installed all the redist files in the _CommonRedist (not sure how much this helped, so may be just do the next part and if it doesn't work, do this part)

Then I opened the VideoSettings.scr file in the Data directory with my text editor.

I removed FullScreen()

I also changed the Resolution to 1920,1080 too.

The game then loaded. Although it showed a black screen with just audio on the intro, press space and the menu will appear. I was then able to play.

Hope this helps someone, it worked for me, but I understand that different systems and different problems. So it may help or it may do nothing.

Bought this bundle a few days ago and it works fine except only get voice/sound when it plays its first introduction which can also be fixed I'm sure.

As of now it works fine except fpr the cut scenes, I just get a black screen.Spamming space skips them. Ryzen 7, 1080ti. 16GB RAM, WIN10
