[Bug] Missing Opponents
During a campaign, some locations may be missing opponents leading the game to go into “Overtime” upon the players selected sol end date. The game never ends leading to some locations which may be very beneficial or the only location the player can survive versus the AI to be unplayable.

I have noticed this occurs frequently when a fourth location is offered, on Ceres, that opponents may be lacking. The game pictured in the screenshot, only has the Player and three AI left [Week 6 of 10], however with four locations, there is not enough AI to populate all locations, thus one location is “unplayable” [the game never ends with no opponent].

Please let me know if this is not the correct place to let developers know of issues. I did not see any sticky’ed information for reporting bugs.

here is the correct place.

Never had an issue myself, at 6 weeks i'm sure it removes one of the locations so you only have 2 which are selectable.

First thing to check is have you verified game files? (go to library, right click on OTC then properties then local files then verify game files).
Or just reinstall anyway.

Looks to me like one of the files is slightly corrupt.
I have never had that issue, had a different one which was corrected on reinstall.

I find it unlikely that anything else will cause that particular error, unless the most recent patch caused it. Will have a look.

Verified, no missing files. I haven't played OTC in quite a while and came back to play with some of the DLCs. I do not recall this bug being present before Ceres.

Yeah, that's clearly not working as intended. Thanks for the report, I've heard of this happening before but never got enough information to reproduce it. What you've provided should be a step toward a solution.

Thank you for reply. I dug around a bit and found the campaign save files if they are of any help to you. This is week 8 of 10, still same game, two locations without opponents.

Maybe more helpful information; Finished another 10 week campaign with Ceres locations off and experienced no missing opponents. Possibly the combination of 10 weeks and Ceres locations eliminates too many opponents?

Turns out I was too hasty, I have experienced another 10 week campaign with no opponents, with Ceres locations off.

Noticed the final week is completely messed up regarding locations.

Five locations, two of which have rewards despite it being the final week, notice how Huygens Crater have appeared since week five from the previous screenshots and have not had any opponents. It seems locations sticks around causing these dead sites with no opponents.

I don't understand why there is not a full list of opponents (see all of the ones listed as "Player Name") Was it always that way? You should have 10 total opponents, which is why the missions should normally be full.

"Player Name" appear during sometime between week 6 and 10 in my previous screenshots in the above post. It says "[AI name] Eliminated" right after the week it was beaten, however the following weeks after that it changes to "Player Name" with default stock price.

WEEK 6

WEEK 8

...
WEEK 10
Player Name $45

It appears it only keeps the eliminated text around for one week after being defeated.

All campaigns I have played starts with 9 opponents, a total of 10 players with the player included. By week 5, issues start to appear with opponents being eliminated however even when there is enough opponents (such as posted ealier: https://i.imgur.com/sAsRao9.jpg ) the game might still not assign opponents to all locations.

huh... my guess is that something went wrong during the campaign and half of your opponents got deleted, which is why there aren't enough opponents. If you see something like this again in a campaign, can you post the output.txt file from C:\Users\...\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Offworld\Logs?

Not to necro, but I'm experiencing the same problem, and this is the only thread I can find on the topic. I had other opponents disappearing partway through the campaign as well (replaced by "Player Name" with 45$ stock), eventually encountering a no-oppenent location in week 7 or 8.

r click on the game click properties go to betas select the 13th item from the top click check code or

I will add that I just experienced this. Started noticing the "player 1" empty box on mission 2. Saw an AI play against itself on mission 3. I think it's because I am simulating AI play after each mission. The AI I played against on mission 2 ALL had D+20 bond ratings with over $1M in debt. I think the game deletes them if they are unable to pay their debt.
