Quick Update & Expectations – We're Listening! ❤️
Hey everyone,

Thanks a lot for taking the time to share your feedback! We're carefully reading everything, and we totally get your points—things like the game feeling a bit grindy, the controls needing some improvements, or adding new features you’d love to see.

I’d also like to set expectations clearly:
Sugardew Island is meant to stay a small and cozy game. Our design was inspired by Harvest Moon DS, and we're going to continue down this path. That doesn’t mean we aren’t going to improve things - we absolutely will! But these improvements will stay true to our cozy vision, so not everything can make it into the game.

I hope this makes sense - your feedback matters a lot, and we appreciate your patience and support!

Cheers,
Robert

PS: I'm also super excited about adding fishing to the game! :)

Can we also have a way to customize our shop & house? Also since we have a shop can we collect shells on the beach and sell them in the shop?
Then the price needs to drop.
Otherwise 17$ is too much for what is in the game now.
when other games are cheaper with way more content,
Full Customization & upgrades of house, shop & player are key important to these kinda games it's not 2000's now, unless this is geared to children & there first game ..
17$ is a lot for this little.
There needs to be a big world to explore, simple fishing, crafting & cooking & lots of gameplay to be had if your not running the shop..

Otherwise the price needs to go down..like 10-12$...
for what update? and ca u pls add better target.. with fields and more?
At the current price, for the current content, there's nothing stopping me from picking up Moonlighter for a friend, or the Wandering Village instead. I could also get Cattails 2 or Settlement Survival, or play one of the many many free phone farm games, and get three times the amount of content. There's also nothing stopping me from going and getting my own copy of Harvest Moon DS somewhere.

I want to like this game, I want to buy it. But I can't when the controls are as bad as they are.
I think I could justify the lack of content, just to pay for the labor costs: if the game was actually playable.

But currently: You're asking Stardew Valley's price for a game with a tenth of the content and controls that are liable to trigger carpal tunnel injuries.

Fix the controls and I'd consider $15 USD. Add in things like picking up the seashells and a slightly better inventory management system and I'm sold. But until then I have no actual reason to pick this up over The Wandering Village, or just go play Stardew more, or pick up Harvest Moon DS.
Oh I can't wait for fishing! It's great that you guys are listening and I can't wait to see what else you add to the game.
I just saw this so I'm gonna drop all these here since you guys said that you are listening lol

It would be nice to have an option to chose a permanent answer for all customers that needs negotiating for a whole day of sales and remove the need to click once for every customers that has already decided to purchase so we can just chill and watch our cozy shop earn. It's draining to keep clicking for the customers comes in one by one which means we have to sit there in the same position for as long as the amount of items in our shop. Like fr? After a period of chopping wood, hammering stones, doing the farm and I still have to chose answers for the customers? No way! To be honest I don't care if they don't want to buy my produce and put it back into the basket, I can just sell it the next day. lol Please allow us to just chill and watch our shop earn.

Also, maybe it would be much more cozy to be able to customize our house or shop's wall, floor, item placements. It will definitely be much more rewarding to be able to purchase new or interesting furniture to decorate the house or shop. Maybe new clothes to purchase instead of just wearing the clothes from character customization throughout the whole game play. I definitely do not want to earn money just to spent only on work items, which is happening in the current game play.

Another interesting suggestion that is to be able to purchase fishing rod to do fishing then sell fishes in store and or purchase a pickaxe to do mining for other kinds of resources to craft other kinds of decorative items like silver fence (there's gold fence and flooring, why isn't there silver fence and flooring lol) or use in further upgrades in the house or shop.

Also my energy doesn't recover no matter how long i stand idle while listening to night music and admiring my super small farm plots. It's not really cozy if I have to plan the usage of my energy wisely instead of being able to do whatever activities I feel like doing at the moment. Sometimes some players just want to do something fulfilling and cozy yet not too much usage of brain cells.
we need an Im Stuck button, as i cant continue story because the game breaks after the cut scene.

Hi, thank you for your message. I copy your message to our internal task board. Robert
I like this game and have no problems playing on pc. I wu\oould like to suggest a couple ideas to add to game... Fruit trees to make Jelly on the workshop table and also Beehives to sell Honey. Maybe add them ?? Thanks
I 100% everything in the game within just a short while. I didn't get the game until the 11th i think but i played without sleeping the first night. I wish there was cooking and fishing or at least something else besides farm, forage/smash/chop, store and repeat. Even the dates are so unenthusiastic. Once you choose someone there is nothing else.
It is nice, it is cute, it is relaxing BUT it has too few content for its price! Missing fishing, collecting on the beach, cooking etc things we could easily sell in the shop.

That's why I removed from my wishlist as it looked like one kinda game & ended up looking like baby's first farming game.

Here's hoping they update & add a lot more otherwise it's not worth that price..
I do like the game but it could use some added things. I agree with the above players the energy drain is not needed in this game it just is a pain and is frustrating. either that or it needs to be fully recovered in a better way the energy bars are a high cost before they can be made then they also don't give much energy to help even when they are made.
yes to picking up the shells as others have suggested. someone said fruit trees that would be great to sell or make the jam and sell as stated. fishing is always a good one. the price of upgrades so to high for how little I can make in the beginning. maybe a bit of balancing of money amounts for upgrades. I love the idea of other clothing maybe a little clothing store from the nature spirits, or being able to buy them from tomte the trader.
since I can't get the report a bug form to open (my pc is a ruddy idiot, what do you mean contact the administrator I *own* you!?) i've noticed a few inconsistencies I'd like to point out for a bug fix. (hoping one of the devs sees this!)

1) bean seed don't say they regrow. they do.
2) aubergine seeds at the shop, when planted the name switches to eggplant.
3) strawberry seeds don't say they regrow. they do
4) salad seeds but once planted the name changes to lettuce, once harvested it's still lettuce.
5) don't take your pet with you and then going to talk with animals that have seeds to give. it teleports you out of bounds and nothing works but the button for the menu that has main menu and quit game as options.
6) the chest outside your house has the lid stay open after you've used it instead of closing.

some info you might need: i'm playing on a windows pc, through steam, and the version is: V3803

p.s please don't point the discord out, I tried that and I am not going back there. I asked in the general chat if there was a channel specifically for bugs as I had one i wanted to put in the right place and got a reply that hit completely wrong basically telling me to just fix my pc if it wouldn't open the form. which is so not helpful and I won't keep bugging my mom to send this stuff in. She did send that one in for me though it got fixed after re-installing the game.
